The CPC is seeking a medical professional to work as a Unit Coordinator, with Day and Night availability, and to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage.<br>

Essential Functions (Key Roles &amp; Responsibilities)<br>
<ul><li>Provides administrative support to unit-based and hospital-wide clinicians and staff in an inpatient unit, functioning as the liaison between the patient, visitors and the clinicians.
</li><li>Expected to effectively organize priorities, complete tasks on time and to manage confidential patient information.</li><li>Responsible for partnering with nursing to coordinate the day-to-day patient flow including communication to key players regarding patient admissions, discharges and transfers.

Join a supportive and growing medical oncology Advanced Practice Team in a role supporting the Mass General Cancer Center at our Boston-based academic medical centers and/or network sites.<br>

Mass General Cancer Center specializes in the care of patients with a variety of hematologic malignancies and solid tumor oncologic diagnoses. Our team has a demonstrated history of providing exquisite, evidence-based patient care. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to work in an invigorating and collaborative care environment. The medical oncology APP will provide direct and indirect care to ambulatory patients. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider will promote a collaborative relationship between all providers, professional nurses and administrative staff, to ensure continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources. Within this role, the advanced practice provider will partner with an attending oncologist(s) in the care of a consistent panel of patients though cross-coverage is expected.

The NP/PA is responsible for:<br>
<ul><li>Performs and records the patient history and physical examination and discusses findings with the collaborating team. Obtaining and coordinating laboratory results, charting of clinical findings in the EMR, orders, nursing instructions, and other required elements.</li><li>Utilizes advanced practice knowledge to identify, prevent or solve complex and/or recurring breast oncology patient care problems.</li><li>Follows and manages patients (in collaboration with MD) enhancing continuity of care.</li><li>Performs (oversees/assures completion of) specialized procedures particular to the select medical oncology population mutually agreed upon with collaborating physician.</li><li>Collaborates with staff and physicians to facilitate a comprehensive plan of care and coordinate resources and write appropriate orders improving access to care, establishing goals for the delivery of care to patients, participating in clinical research, and managing communications between physicians, patients, family, and staff.</li><li>Appreciates complex medication interactions.</li><li>Ensuring appropriate diagnostic procedures occur in a timely matter through careful coordination with other services such as radiology, facilitating various clinic appointments, communicating with patients regarding test results, and providing coverage for the team.</li><li>Educating patients regarding a variety of medical oncology issues associated with local or systemic therapy.</li><li>Indications and interpretation of radiology, pathology, and laboratory results.</li><li>Understands the complex medical environments of cancer patients including, but not limited to, those with advanced malignancy or organ dysfunction.</li><li>Writes orders which are in accord with current guidelines including antineoplastics.</li><li>Maintains and practices in accord with practice guidelines per state and hospital regulations.</li><li>Provides consultation to both nurses and physicians and serves as a resource to staff in area(s) of expertise.</li><li>Collaborates with staff and other health care professionals to meet staff and patient educational needs.</li><li>Monitors patient outcomes in accordance with defined standards of patient care.</li><li>Supports and conducts research efforts to advance knowledge and to promote research-based practice.</li><li>Responsible for own professional growth and maintenance of required credentials.</li></ul>

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), located in Boston, MA currently has an opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our cutting-edge Inpatient Oncology team, caring for inpatients with solid tumors or hematologic malignancies.

Join a dynamic inpatient oncology team. Work within one of our two subspecialty groups with APPs that specialize in either 1) solid tumor, caring for an oncology patient population who are admitted for medical complications, new diagnoses, and treatment-related side effects, or 2) hematologic malignancies, caring for patients receiving bone marrow transplant and cellular therapies. This role offers the perfect blend of autonomy and collaboration. You&rsquo;ll work closely with oncologists and an interdisciplinary team to deliver cutting-edge care on either our solid tumor or hematologic malignancy service. Our APPs have the opportunity to be on the forefront of cancer care, collaborating with research teams to care for patients receiving first-in-human therapies as well as standard of care.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) supports the multidisciplinary healthcare team in providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care. PCA assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support, while promoting comfort and maintaining patient dignity. Responsibilities also include monitoring and documenting vital signs, obtaining EKGs, drawing blood, and responding promptly to patient requests while safeguarding confidentiality and always ensuring patient safety.<br>

Essential Functions<br>
<ul><li>Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.</li><li>Complete all documentation in the medical record as required.</li><li>Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
</li><li>Helps patients with several basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them.
</li><li>Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.</li><li>Listen to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.</li></ul><p></p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><b><br>
