Responsibilities:

In this job, you will:</b></div><ul><li>
Supervise and monitor inmates in living, recreation, dining, and visitation areas.</li><li>
Coordinate their movement (conducting counts and providing emergency response as needed).</li><li>
Make sure program activities stay safe and supervise labor crews.</li><li>
Conduct shakedowns for contraband materials (by yourself or with your team) and confiscate prohibited items as per policies and procedures</li><li>
Keep daily logs on inmates (including disciplinary reports).</li><li>
Provide prompt and appropriate assistance to those who have been injured, ill, or have suffered trauma.</li><li>

Qualifications:

This position maintains an orderly environment within assigned unit or area of facility by conducting standard operating procedures in accordance with facility policies/procedures and required Company and client contractual obligations. Daily schedules are followed and employee serves as role model for residents.</div><div></div><div><b><br>

Summary</b></div><div>
This position manages a caseload of participant cases by administering the policies and procedures of the program as directed by the contracting agency and the Program Manager or Supervising Case Manager. Learns, uses and models principles of the &ldquo;What Works&rdquo; system through evidence-based practices in all interactions with participants and other staff members. This position reports on program operations to ensure that all requirements of the criminal justice system are met.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Primary Duties and Responsibilities</b></div><ul><li>
Manages a participant caseload using principles of the &ldquo;What Works&rdquo; system. Conducts risk/need assessments and creates individual treatment plans for each assigned participant. Meets regularly with participants and documents participants&rsquo; progress or regress in Company database.</li><li>
Conducts orientation meetings with new participants to explain program rules and regulations. Verbally explains the participant contract in detail to ensure that the participant understands their responsibilities. Installs electronic monitoring equipment on new participants when necessary.</li><li>
Sets participant schedules and specifies all approved activities based on sentencing information. Approves temporary schedule changes for approved activities.</li><li>
Collects participant fees on an on-going basis when required. Notifies the Program Manager of delinquent fees.</li><li>
Monitors participant compliance with alcohol and/or drug counseling when required.</li><li>
Reports all program violations to the appropriate agency or official via the established reporting parameters.</li><li>
Troubleshoots equipment problems and relays technical problems to the Program Manager for resolution.</li><li>
May review daily summaries each morning and forward reports to the appropriate agency as required.</li><li>
Reports on the status of program operations regularly to ensure all necessary documentation is prepared for court review.</li><li>
Represents the company in contacts with elected officials and other public figures in the criminal justice system.</li><li>
Facilitate evidence-based CBT programs and other life skills programs to participants groups each week. Documents participants&rsquo; attendance, participation and progress in Company database.</li><li>
Conducts group and individual meetings utilizing motivational interviewing techniques.</li><li>
Works with participants to develop and implement a rehabilitative plan.</li><li>
May testify in court regarding participants&rsquo; compliance with court orders.</li><li>
May screen participants at jail for entry into the program.</li><li>
Provide face-to-face services to the DRC participants</li><li>
Develop CMPs for participants</li><li>
Develop and monitor the participant&rsquo;s progress relative to their CMP through all phrases of the program.</li><li>
Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies as necessary.</li><li>
Maintain progress notes in participant files.</li><li>
Keep the AOR apprised of participant&rsquo;s progress.</li><li>
Develop an exit plan to include discharge and aftercare information.</li><li>
May be required to learn and develop proficiency in Client Services Specialist&rsquo;s duties, including opening and closing the office, and performing participant intakes, check-ins, breath analysis and drug screens, to provide backup when necessary.</li><li>

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in social, human services, criminal justice or behavioral science program, from an accredited college or university and minimum of one (1) year of experience working in human services, corrections or community-based services.</li><li>
Work experience may be substituted for academic studies exchanging one year of work experience in a related field for one year of academic education. Total work experience needed in lieu of the combination of education and work experience is five (5) years</li><li>
Basic knowledge of case management, referral services and interventions in both group and individual modalities.</li><li>

 SPECIALIZED TREATMENT FOR OPTIMIZED PROGRAMMING (STOP) services are designed to assist recently incarcerated offenders in their reintegration to the community. Specifically, STOP 2 located in Campbell, CA, under contract with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides housing and in/outpatient program services to individuals under the supervision of the CDCR Division of Adult Paroles (DAPO). STOP 2 as a contract manager identifies and contracts with community-based providers. STOP 2 staff facilitate the placement of individuals into appropriate community services; monitor participants progress in programs; develop and monitor participant discharge plans; monitor community-based providers for adherence to contract requirements and evidence-based practices. STOP 2 staff facilitate ongoing audits of providers and participants via on site visits and physical inspections, as well as monitoring both participants and providers with the CDCR provided data base (ARMs)

 This position is the secondary provider of casework services to the participants. The primary focus of this position is discharge planning, and interfacing with Paroles staff. The Case Manager to participant caseload ratio is designed at 1 to 50.

  Primary Duties And Responsibilities

   Provides interactive services to the STOP participants.
  </li>
  <li>
   Conducts placement assessments with participants
  </li>
  <li>
   Works with and communicates regularly with Community Based Providers
  </li>
  <li>
   Works/Communicates with Providers and Paroles staff as part of the overall development of Case Management Plans (CMP) with participants, however this staff persons primary focus is Discharge Planning.
  </li>
  <li>
   Monitors the participant&rsquo;s progress relative to their Case Management Plan through all phases of the program.
  </li>
  <li>
   Makes appropriate referrals to outside agencies as necessary.
  </li>
  <li>
   Maintains progress notes in the ARMs electronic database.
  </li>
  <li>
   Keeps the assigned Parole Agent) apprised of participant&rsquo;s progress.
  </li>
  <li>
   Develops discharge plans.
  </li>
  <li>
   Conducts monthly progress and discharge planning sessions with each assigned participant to both review and update their discharge plan and readiness..
  </li>

   Ensures implementation of the specific program treatment/intervention modality under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Supervisor.
  </li>
  <li>
   Manages and coordinates individual participant services through appropriate referrals and CBP program assignment.
  </li>
  <li>
   Collaborates with participant to identify a network that will support the participant&rsquo;s reintegration into the community.
  </li>
  <li>
   Assists, as directed, the Compliance Administrator and Clinical Supervisor in conducting and following up on community-based provider audits.
  </li>
  <li>
   Participates in all training provided for STOP staff; prepares schedules, reports, or other information required for the program and requested by the STOP Program Manager, Clinical Supervisor, Compliance Coordinator and/or CDCR personnel.

   Attends GEO/STOP-professional development, supervision, training, staff meetings as required.

   Ability to recognize the importance of family, social networks, and community systems in the treatment and recovery process.

   Knowledge and the ability to comply with program documentation requirements, applicable ethical and professional standards of conduct.

   Ability to facilitate the participant's engagement in the treatment and recovery process.

   Possession of the case management skills necessary to facilitate discharge planning, consult as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and assess ongoing treatment planning efficacy.

   Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

   Possession of an Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification recognized by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) preferred.

   Ability to conduct assessments and/or evaluations, which serve as the basis for CBP placement.
  </li>
  <li>
   Ability to provide services appropriate to the personal and cultural identity and language of the participant
  </li>

   Ability to appropriately use strategies from accepted and culturally appropriate models with participants with substance use and other criminogenic risk factors.

   Ability to establish rapport with participants including management of crisis and determination of need for additional professional assistance.
