<div>Position Summary:
Registration clerks are responsible for obtaining patient demographic, insurance and financial information including but not limited to performing scheduling, registration, patient pre-admission and admission, reception, and discharge functions.
Registration clerks also must employ proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during and after the date of service. Escorting of patients/visitors to appropriate areas, or obtaining, wheelchair, etc. Arranges for patients to speak with financial counselors if needed. Registration clerks also ensure medical necessity checks/verification which may be in the form of authorization requests or advance beneficiary notification forms.
Insurance authorization/notifications may or may not result from an automated tool which can include inpatient, or outpatient scheduled or unscheduled hospital charges. 
Education, License &amp; Cert:<ul><li>
Associate degree in health care, Finance or related area. In lieu of degree, two (2) years' experience is required in Front Office Assistant, Registration, Insurance Verification, Scheduling/Call Center, or Banking.</li><li>
Working knowledge of medical terminology required, with a medical terminology course completion.</li><li>
Proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel required.</li><li>
Must possess an abiding commitment to basic ethical and legal principles, including familiarity with HIPAA and Protected Health Information.</li></ul> 
Experience:<ul><li>
Excellent communication skills.</li><li>
Must have proven clerical skills, including typing, filing, scanning, with the ability to communicate with the public, doctors, nurses, and patients.</li><li>

Other Duties:<ul><li>
Responsible for interviewing patients or their representatives to obtain complete patient registration and required third party billing information, to include all demographic and insurance information. Registration may include assisting patients with electronic check-in devices and enrollment in electronic registration tools or devices.</li><li>
 Obtains all required information and signatures to complete all patient type visit creation, and third-party billing information accurately and as appropriate.</li><li>
 Obtain any authorization information required for procedures and signing of financial waivers as appropriate.</li><li>
 Demonstrates current knowledge of clinical computer systems</li><li>
Prepares charts, requisitions, and other assigned work according to the department guidelines.</li><li>
Ensures accurate data entry of all patient types.</li><li>
Answers the telephone and responds to requests appropriately and in a timely manner.

Works closely with other Departments to ensure coordination of inter-departmental functions related to, but not limited to, the processing of patient information.</li><li>

Responsible for daily departmental functions such as printing, viewing, faxing, filing, scanning, copying, and answering/directing phone calls. Maintains work area in orderly manner to maximize efficient workflow.</li><li>
Maintains desired attendance level, arrives on time at start of scheduled shift and returns promptly after breaks and lunch periods.</li><li>
May be required to work holidays, weekends, and shifts other than those regularly assigned.</li></ul>

Patient Registration Clerk - Patient Registration - Full Time

Position Summary:
Supports psycho‐social needs of patients who are currently receiving or recently received hospital based care. The Social Worker strives to enhance the optimized level of health and/or recovery; provide interventions for populations ranging from infants to geriatrics; serve as a resource for the healthcare team, assists in identifying discharge planning needs; and provides support/intervention in stress filled situations.
Experience:
Minimum two years post graduate experience as a social worker in a similar type of health care setting is strongly preferred. Successful completing a 6 month hospital, based orientation process is required. For staff providing care to patients in the state of New York, LMSW, LSW, or LCSW is required.

Patient Care Partner - Float Pool - Full Time

<div>Position Summary:
Provides general support tasks (clinical and non-clinical) for assigned patient care area. Works with other members of the patient care team to deliver care to patients in age groups including newborns, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. In addition the Patient Care Technician is responsible for venipuncture and specimen collection following Laboratory protocols.
Experience:
Previous patient care experience preferred, but not required. Previous phlebotomy experience preferred, but not required.

Patient Care Partner - Acute Care - Full Time

<div>Position Summary:
With use of a hospital vehicle drives a prescribed route while picking up and delivering patient samples, mail, payroll and other finance designated items, pharmaceuticals, supplies and other items between Guthrie and designated non‐Guthrie entities while maintaining a positive professional and helpful manner.
Education, License &amp; Cert:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
No previous experience required, however, applicants with experience in supply distribution and driving routes will be preferred. Other Qualifications
1. Current, valid driver&rsquo;s license.
2. No prior offenses for DWI, Hit and Run Conviction, or other infractions having led to any revocation of driving privileges in addition to any other criminal convictions.

Essential Functions:
1. Interacts in a professional and courteous manner with all Guthrie Departments and entities, including associated non‐Guthrie providers to facilitate the efficient delivery or pick up of all necessary supplies, communications and other items to offices, Guthrie entities and associated providers (i.e. Administration, Laboratory, Purchasing, Mailroom, Storeroom, Pharmacy, Radiology, Finance etc.).
2. Responsible for ensuring the verification of specimens picked up at various Guthrie entities, then ensuring optimum transport of specimens at correct temperatures to maintain sample integrity.
3. Maintains timeliness on assigned route with associated timetables at each site to ensure turnaround times and optimal specimen receipt and reporting are met.
4. Delivers mail and materials to offices and other Guthrie entities as designated by the supervisor daily.
5. Delivers pharmaceuticals (including patient and employee medication) to all Regional Offices, Guthrie entities including documentation of receipt of pharmaceuticals and appropriate storage temperatures. Receipt vouchers returned to storeroom for documentation.
6. Picks up and delivers, payroll, accounts payable checks, cash and other finance required items to regional offices with appropriate documentation of pick‐up and delivery. Required to deposit money bags at bank.
7. Daily delivers and collects x‐rays as designated by Radiology departments.
8. Enforces the laboratory specimen rejection / acceptance policy by confirming patient identification on certain specimens and requisitions.
9. Loads and unloads courier van with supplies and specimens to be delivered. Verifies manifest for all storeroom supplies before departing to Regional Offices. Required to obtain delivery confirmation signature at every Regional Office or other entity. 18. Tracks laboratory specimens and parcels using a remote device with tracking software
10. Portrays high standard of professionalism as a visible representative of the Guthrie Medical Group.
11. Must be able to perform with minimal supervision while performing duties, as well as take directions and criticism in a positive light.
12. Maintains vehicles for basic maintenance (i.e.: all necessary fluids, fuel, normal lubricants at peak operating levels as necessary). Gasoline tank should be filled at start of each day. Lights, as well as air pressure on tires, should be checked periodically Maintains vehicle in top operational condition and appearance. Operates in a non‐destructive and careful manner through utilization of primary roadways, slowing for rough roadways, railroad crossings, construction sites, etc. Adheres to posted speed limits.
13. Keeps a daily log on all gasoline purchases and odometer reading.
14. Reports any vehicle potential malfunctions immediately.
15. Reports any accident or vehicle issues immediately and gets appropriate reports filled out.
16. Reports to Supervisor any medication used or illnesses requiring medications which could cause drowsiness, or any other reason for potential impairment.
17. Performs other duties as assigned, to include but not limited to typing, filing, answering telephones, and other duties as assigned.

1. Other duties as assigned. As needed, work Sunday‐Saturday, off‐shifts, weekends, holidays and required overtime to support a 7 day/week operation.&rdquo;
