Position Summary:
Performs duties of a clinical and clerical nature. Maintains records and applies knowledge and skills to run a full functioning office for one or more Providers in Clinic. Assists professional staff by performing routine duties in caring for patients.
Education, License, Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Knowledge of medical terminology, ability to communicate and excellent customer service skills a must. Must be dependable, professional, flexible and able to multi‐task.
Essential Functions:<ul><li>
Interviews patient to obtain medical history.</li><li>
Determines vital signs, (weight, temperature, blood pressure, etc) and documents in the patient&rsquo;s medical record.</li><li>
Assists provider during exam and treatment.</li><li>
Directs patient to examination room and prepares patient for examination and treatment.</li><li>
Performs liaison duties between patients, Providers, hospital staff, etc.</li><li>
Process ancillary reports and all other patient results to the provider for review and assists with patient communication.</li><li>
Responsible for greeting patients and updating various pertinent information into the patient&rsquo;s medical record.</li><li>
Routes patient after exam to proper area for visit completion.</li><li>
May be required to do phlebotomy.</li><li>
May perform high level disinfection, based on departmental equipment</li></ul>
Other Duties:<ul><li>
Answers telephones and schedules patient appointments.</li><li>
Takes messages of a medical nature (requests for prescription refills, test results, etc).</li><li>
Performs other clerical functions as necessary.</li><li>
Exhibits good telephone etiquette.</li><li>
Quotes patient self‐pay balances at time of scheduling.</li><li>
Informs patients of their financial obligations.</li><li>
Directs patients to the patient representative for assistance with their account.</li><li>
Applies principles of disinfection/sterilization/disease transmission/universal precautions as per clinic and manufacturer guidelines.</li><li>
Assists in maintaining appropriate level of supplies.</li><li>
Attends and participates in Department meetings, along with contributing to department/office goals.</li><li>
Become familiar with ICD‐9 and CPT coding.</li><li>
Cleans, stocks, and prepares exam rooms.</li><li>
Coordinate patient appointments for X‐ray, CT scans, Physical Therapy, etc. as ordered by the providers.</li><li>
Assists with obtaining and processing referral and pre‐certification requirements.</li><li>
Maintains confidentiality, respect and consideration of patients and others.</li><li>
Applies Guthrie values (patient centeredness, teamwork, excellence) when performing daily tasks.</li><li>
Maintains equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and clinic policies and procedures.</li><li>

Clinical Assistant-Center for Mental Health-Part Time

<div>Position Summary: Performs daily transporting of patients/visitors, via wheelchair/stretcher or assistance with walking, to various destinations throughout the hospital and clinic facilities. Greets all customers entering Guthrie Health.

Education, License &amp; Cert: High school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.

Experience: Previous customer service is required. Must be able to read, write, and understand oral and written instructions. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.

Essential Functions:<ul><li>
 Responds to requests for transport via Microsoft Surface Pro or Apple iPad and Vocera.
</li><li> Transports patients/visitors via wheelchair/stretcher and/or assist with walking patient/visitor to their destination in a timely manner.
</li><li>Assists patients/visitors in and out of wheelchair and onto or up from a stretcher.
</li><li>Has knowledge of the Guthrie Clinic facilities, programs and departments and provides information as needed.</li><li>
Maintains knowledge of the community to recommend shopping, motels, restaurants, churches, etc. and provides information as needed.
</li><li>In the absence of a parking attendant, escorts will assist patients/visitors in exiting and entering their vehicles.</li><li>
In the absence of a parking attendant, responsible for valet parking vehicles as requested.
</li><li> Utilize proper body mechanics to prevent injuries.
</li><li>Determines the proper PPE to use in all cases, i.e., seat covers, gloves, hand sanitizer, masks.
</li></ul>
Other Duties:<ul><li>
 Is the initial point of contact for patients and visitors entering the Guthrie Clinic.
</li><li> Responds to emergencies in surrounding work area and dispatches assistance as needed.
</li><li> Attends mandatory monthly department meetings.

Case Manager - Home Health, Part Time

<div>Position Summary:
Provides general support tasks (clinical and non-clinical) for assigned patient care area. Works with other members of the patient care team to deliver care to patients in age groups including newborns, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. In addition the Patient Care Technician is responsible for venipuncture and specimen collection following Laboratory protocols.
Experience:
Previous patient care experience preferred, but not required. Previous phlebotomy experience preferred, but not required.
