 HJF is seeking a
 
 Clinical Research Assistant I
 
 HJF to perform data collection by conducting research interviews. The Clinical Research Assistant will recruit and screen subjects for research studies and collect baseline and follow up data from subjects. This is the first of four levels of clinical research assistants and works under the guidance and direction of senior staff.
 
 
 This is a Phase 2 randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study that will evaluate multiple potential therapeutic interventions for PTSD utilizing an adaptive platform trial design and cutting-edge techniques for measuring outcomes. Subjects are randomized among the multiple cohorts in the study and the resulting randomization enables sharing/pooling of control subjects, where all interventions may be compared to a common control (placebo).
 
 
 This position will be in support of the Department of Psychiatry / Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress.
 
 
 The Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS) is one of the nation's oldest and most highly regarded, academic-based organizations dedicated to advancing trauma-informed knowledge, leadership, and methodologies. The Center's work addresses a wide scope of trauma exposure from the consequences of combat, operations other than war, terrorism, natural and human-made disasters, and public health threats, as well as risk and protective factors associated with suicidal behaviors. CSTS is a part of our nation's federal medical school, Uniformed Services University (USU), and its Department of Psychiatry. These affiliations represent the Center's history, mission, and future directions as a major contributor to our country's understanding of the impact of trauma and the advancement of trauma-informed care.  The Department has active research programs in the Basic Sciences, Clinical Sciences, and Neurosciences. In addition to intramural research projects, the Department maintains active research funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute of Drug Abuse, National Science Foundation, the Department of the Army, and the Department of the Air Force. The department has ongoing collaborations with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, is sponsor of the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress, and provides psychiatry residency training through its affiliations with the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, National Naval Medical Center and Malcolm Grow Air Force Medical Center, and the National Capital Area Graduate Medical Education Consortium.

 Responsibilities

 Assists in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and protocols.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists with lab work, including preparation of patient samples.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains clear and accurate project records, inventories, and logbooks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs data entry for research projects and maintains databases.
 </li>
 <li>
 Interaction with study subjects, including screening, recruitment, and data collection.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides basic data analysis and interpretation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Independently identifies and collects reports, journal articles, data, and other relevant information in an organized and proactive capacity.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists with the preparation of manuscripts, reports, and presentations, including editing and formatting documents. Distributes manuscripts and reports to all scientific collaborators as required.
 </li>
 <li>
 May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

 Education and Experience

 Bachelor's Degree required. Behavioral Sciences preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of 0-2 years of experience required.

 Knowledge of basic computer programs; ability to follow detailed instructions; good written and verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

 Previous clinical research experience is preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Previous experience with patient recruitment and consenting preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust Background Check.

 This position will take place primarily in a clinic, hospital, or office environment onsite at Fort Belvoir, VA.

 Compensation

 The hourly pay range for this position is $19.33-$23.00. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.

 Nurse Practitioner I
 
 that helps with all aspects of patient care for research purposes. May work in inpatient, outpatient and research situations and performs independently or as part of a treatment team. Educates patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments, including research supplements and placebos. Conduct physical exams, orders tests and medications, and serves as a patient's primary healthcare provider.
 
 This position is part-time at 21 hours per week during the standard business day.
 
 
 
 This position will be in support of the Graduate School of Nursing at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (Bethesda, MD). Research will be in collaboration with the cardiovascular unit of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
 
 
 
 This position requires U.S. citizenship.

 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Provides support in study coordination and implementation, data and study management. Oversees the implementation, tracking, data abstraction and collection, and coordination of data reporting.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledgeable and proficient with the content of standard of care. Identifies problems in the research design, analysis, methodology and trends in patient reactions to treatment. Collects, organizes, catalogs, disseminates, and maintains appropriate files of current data.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists in the development of research questions, design and methodology. Assists in writing and/or editing, organization and management of protocols. Supports protocols at Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).
 </li>
 <li>
 Educates patients and their families on research protocol, purpose of the research, procedures, patient responsibilities, answers questions, and discusses risks and benefits of participation. May explain Informed Consent for research protocol(s).
 </li>
 <li>
 Develops reports and presents clinical results at local and national meetings and assist in the preparation of research articles for publication in scientific journals.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides patient care including: screening, evaluating and monitoring patients. Prepares patients for office visits and invasive procedures and assists in the implementation of these procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides assistance, consultation, assessment and monitoring of patients participating in or being evaluated for enrollment in research studies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs examinations and screenings on participating patients and maintains records of results. Prescribes appropriate therapies within the limits established by the protocol.
 </li>
 <li>
 Obtains information from patients and their family/caregivers to gather appropriate data including present and past medical history and physical assessment. Provides patient/family counseling and education.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists with the management of patient specialty clinics which may include clinic set up, booking appointments, returning phone calls and handing out appropriate program information and questionnaires.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides feedback to PI to monitor the quality of patient care and issues that affect protocol adherence and program operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides emergency care and triages patients, developing processes to continually improve clinical functions, on an as needed basis.
 </li>
 <li>
 May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

 Education and Experience:

 Master's Degree in Nursing.

 Minimum of 3-5 years&rsquo; experience required.
