Health Informatics Scientist - TBI Blast Injury

HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to perform clinical research in conjunction with one or more specified clinical research protocols. 
This position will be in support of the Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program and Research Center (WRESP-RC) located at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center in Fort Belvoir, VA. The primary mission of the WRESP-RC is to provide refractive surgery to our nation's warfighters so that they might perform their duties on the battlefield without the need for spectacle correction. One of the unique features of the WRESP is that it is not necessarily a &quot;medical&quot; program but a &quot;medical readiness&quot; program. The secondary mission is to critically investigate military aspects of refractive surgery to improve the visual function of America's warfighters on the modern battlefield. U.S. citizenship required. 
The WRESP-RC serves as a research center for refractive surgery in the U.S. Army and Department of War. Studies focus on a comprehensive evaluation of safety, efficacy and visual performance after laser refractive surgery with special regard to aspects of military importance.

Clinical Research Coordinator I - WRESP

HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant I HJF to perform data collection by conducting research interviews. The Clinical Research Assistant will recruit and screen subjects for research studies and collect baseline and follow up data from subjects. This is the first of four levels of clinical research assistants and works under the guidance and direction of senior staff.
This is a Phase 2 randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study that will evaluate multiple potential therapeutic interventions for PTSD utilizing an adaptive platform trial design and cutting-edge techniques for measuring outcomes. Subjects are randomized among the multiple cohorts in the study and the resulting randomization enables sharing/pooling of control subjects, where all interventions may be compared to a common control (placebo).
This position will be in support of the Department of Psychiatry / Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress.
The Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS) is one of the nation's oldest and most highly regarded, academic-based organizations dedicated to advancing trauma-informed knowledge, leadership, and methodologies. The Center's work addresses a wide scope of trauma exposure from the consequences of combat, operations other than war, terrorism, natural and human-made disasters, and public health threats, as well as risk and protective factors associated with suicidal behaviors. CSTS is a part of our nation's federal medical school, Uniformed Services University (USU), and its Department of Psychiatry.
