Summary of Position

The Server plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to provide residents and guests with the best possible dining experience and deliver Platinum Service&reg; with each interaction.

Shift: 3:45pm-7pm, every other weekend required.

Essential Job Functions
<ul>
<li>Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.</li>
<li>Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.</li>
<li>Distribute and collect menus as necessary.</li>
<li>Take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer questions regarding the menu.</li>
<li>Follow sanitary regulations at all times.</li>
<li>Provide Platinum Service with each dining experience.</li>
<li>Set up meal trays, food carts and set up the dining room with utensils, salt and pepper, napkins, and clean common areas prior and after meals are served.</li>
<li>Assist in checking resident trays before distribution.</li>
<li>Pour hot and cold beverages for residents. Assist residents with opening their containers and condiments as needed. Pay special attention to resident and guest needs while they are enjoying their dining experience.</li>
<li>Prepare and deliver snacks to special events and parties hosted at the community.</li>
<li>Bus tables during and after the meals.</li>
<li>Provide support services to other dining rooms, during events and activities as needed.</li>
<li>Clean dining room area according to the cleaning schedules and assignments.</li>
<li>Perform other job-related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.</li>
<li>Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.</li>
<li>Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.</li>
<li>Communicate in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.</li>
</ul>
Education and Experience
<ul>
<li>Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.</li>
<li>Food service and/or hospitality experience preferred</li>
</ul>
Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have direct reports or supervisory requirements.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.

Physical Requirements - The Physical activities of this position involve:

<li>Must be able to frequently lift/carry 30 lbs. and occasionally lift/carry 50 lbs. at times</li>
<li>Must be able to frequently push/pull up to 30 lbs. and occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs.</li>
<li>Bending/twisting/stooping</li>
<li>Reaching at or below the shoulder</li>
<li>Frequently standing or walking</li>
</ul>

Part Time Evening Shift Server-Assisted Living

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:</h4>
<ul><li>Perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the nurse, e.g. range of motion exercises, assistance in ambulation or exercises.</li>
<li>Performs personal care activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, skin care/nail care, oral hygiene, shaving, dressing, and others as directed/requested.</li>
<li>Performs household services essential to health care at home including meal preparation/feeding, laundry and ironing, changing/laundering bed linens, light housekeeping and other services as offered.</li>
<li>Initiates and participates in leisure activities provided for residents. Encourages residents to socialize and participate in planned activities or programs and to develop friendships with other residents.</li>
<li>Observes and documents the health and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the nurse.</li>
<li>Responds promptly and courteously to resident requests for assistance and emergency pull cords.</li>
<li>Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for residents by observing infection control practices, following facility guidelines, and reporting unsafe situation to the nurse.</li>
<li>Assist residents in preparing and transporting for appointments and social programs.</li>
<li>Assist with moving and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.</li>
<li>Assist residents to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed.</li>
</ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader">Required Skills and Qualifications:</h4>
<ul><li>Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
</li><li>Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
</li><li>Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
</li><li>Must be able to speak, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, residents, and families.</li>
</ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader">Education and Experience:</h4>
<ul><li>Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant or a licensed Medication Assistant in accordance with laws of this state.</li>
<li>Prefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility.</li></ul></div>
