A day in the life&hellip;</b></div><div></div><div>
Wondering what a day in the life of an Float <b>CMA/LPN/RN</b> in our <b>North Waukee Family Medicine</b> might look like at The Iowa Clinic?
</div><div></div><ul><li>Arrive at work in the morning &ndash; no night shifts here!</li><li>
Provides professional nursing services for patients of assigned physicians and APP, following established nursing practice standards and medical office hospital procedures.</li><li>
Hours are 8:00am&ndash;4:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with a half day on Wednesday from 8:00am&ndash;12:30pm.</li><li>
Conducts comprehensive assessments of patient's care needs</li><li>
Room patients and take vitals</li><li>
Assists provider(s) with patient triage, identifies nursing diagnoses or problem lists and formulates an initial plan of care based on assessment data</li><li>
Spend enough time with your patients to listen to them and get to know them</li><li>
Participate in a department potluck or team building activity over lunch</li><li>
Visit The Iowa Clinic intranet to see what volunteer opportunities are available to you this month and read what is happening around the clinic</li><li>
Return patient calls and ensure all patients feel valued and cared for</li><li>

Job Duties and Responsibilities</b></div><ul><li>
Demonstrates ability to consistently meet the department work schedule at an As Needed Status.</li><li>
Transports materials to, from and between The Iowa Clinic Management Company and clinics within The Iowa Clinic system including, but not limited to interoffice mail, medical record information, x-rays, diagnostic tests, insurance co-pays, reports, etc.</li><li>
Responds to emergency transport requests as appropriate.</li><li>
Greets public, co-workers, physicians and others during transports presenting a positive, collaborative image.</li><li>
Promotes a positive, professional image of The Iowa Clinic both internally and externally. Promotes positive interpersonal relations with all personnel.</li><li>
Maintains confidentiality of all patient and financial information.</li><li>
Maintains awareness of workload of co-workers and offers assistance as appropriate.</li><li>
Keeps own work area clean, neat and professional in appearance.</li><li>

   Coordinate key study activities&mdash;from start-up to close-out&mdash;by staying organized, responsive, and protocol-focused.
  </li>
  <li>
   Support providers and study representatives as a liaison, helping keep communication clear across the research team and patients.
  </li>
  <li>
   Recruit, screen, and schedule prospective participants using medical records, databases, referrals, and community outreach.
  </li>
  <li>
   Help guide the informed consent process (as delegated and required) and document interactions according to protocol and regulatory standards.
  </li>
  <li>
   Support study visits by collecting medical information, performing or arranging phlebotomy, and preparing/handling labs for shipment and review.
  </li>
  <li>
   Maintain accurate study documentation (source, case report forms, and regulatory files) and keep supplies stocked for protocol needs.
  </li>
  <li>
   Prepare for monitor visits and support ongoing regulatory compliance while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality.

   High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred).
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience in a clinical setting (2&ndash;5 years a plus), with comfort working directly with patients.
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  </li>
  <li>
   Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with providers, sponsors/monitors, and internal teams.
  </li>
  <li>
   Comfort using computers, email, and standard office/clinical systems (EMR and scheduling experience a plus).
  </li>
  <li>
   Commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct in a clinical research environment (GCP and FDA/OSHA knowledge a plus).
