<div>The Kelly Group is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Associate for its Decatur, Illinois, office. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of clerical and/or accounting experience as well as experience as a payroll clerk or similar role.
This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:<ul><li>
Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees</li><li>
Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes, etc.</li><li>
Display excellent organizational, time management and communication skills</li><li>
Utilize data input skills while maintaining critical accuracy</li><li>
Use various types of software, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and a payroll management application (previous SAGE knowledge is a plus)</li><li>
Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality</li></ul>
Other preferred qualifications sought include:<ul><li>
Multi-state payroll experience with strong analytical background</li><li>
Knowledge of federal, state and local employment regulations and tax processing</li><li>
Knowledge of the payroll cycle and the impact on the general ledger</li><li>
Knowledge of time and material and contract practices</li><li>
Understanding of monthly and quarterly payroll filings</li></ul>
