Position descriptionPosition: Summer Teacher/TutorSummarySummer program is one of Korean American Family Service Center's major programs serving children, aged 10 to 14 (5th to 9th grades) who are from low-income Korean America or diverse family backgrounds. The core goal is to provide academic, social, emotional and psychological support in a culturally and linguistically appropriate setting, while comprehensively supporting their parents and families.Summer teacher/Tutor will manage and supervise children and implements appropriate curriculum on a daily basis. This position will work independently by following standard practice and procedures to lead engaging academic, emotional and social enrichment activities.Working Hours: <ul><li>Monday ~ Friday: 10am ~ 12pm</li></ul>Major Responsibilities <ul><li>Develop and implement daily lesson plans.</li><li>Provide tutoring services to recently arrived immigrant students to support their English Language Arts (ELA) proficiency development.</li><li>Provide SHSAT and SAT tutoring for academically advanced students.</li><li>Implement effective discipline techniques and classroom management strategies.</li><li>Ensure the safety and supervision of students at all times, and take appropriate Corrective action to prevent injuries and accidents.</li><li>Interact professionally and appropriately with parents and school staff.</li><li>Respond to inquiries from parents in a timely and professional manner.</li></ul>Qualification<ul><li>Eligible to work in US</li><li>Current college student or graduates</li><li>Prior teaching/tutoring experience is preferred</li><li>Experienced teacher with class management skill is preferred</li><li>Knowledge base of the SAT/SHSAT</li><li>Excellent presentation skills and oral/communication skills appropriate/relevant to test type and students</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timePay: From $25.00 per hourWork Location: In person
