 Job Description
 
 : The General Manager (Unit Head) at The Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata is responsible for the overall performance and strategic direction of the hotel. With 215 luxury rooms and a legacy rooted in heritage hospitality, the GM will lead operations, enhance guest satisfaction, and drive financial success. Deep familiarity with local culture and fluency in Bengali are essential to foster strong community engagement, manage local teams effectively, and deliver authentic guest experiences.
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Fluency in Bengali and English is mandatory.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong commercial acumen with deep expertise in F&amp;B, Rooms, Revenue Management, and Guest Services.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in managing large-scale operations (200+ keys, extensive F&amp;B and banqueting) preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of Kolkata market and regional cultural nuances is an added advantage.
 </li>
 <li>
 Candidates from the background of Front Office/F &amp; B/ Sales &amp; Marketing will be preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

 Key Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
 Strategic Leadership:
 
 Provide visionary leadership to all hotel departments. Ensure alignment with The Lalit brand's values, guest expectations, and business goals.
 
 
 
 Operational Excellence:
 
 Oversee day-to-day operations across Rooms, F&amp;B, Banquets, Spa, Engineering, Sales &amp; Marketing, Finance, and HR to ensure seamless guest experiences and operational efficiency.
 
 
 
 Revenue &amp; Profitability:
 
 Drive revenue through innovative strategies and yield management. Monitor financial performance, ensure profitability, manage budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
 
 
 
 Guest Experience &amp; Brand Standards:
 
 Maintain and exceed brand standards for service quality, guest satisfaction, and safety. Lead initiatives to enhance guest engagement and loyalty.
 
 
 
 Team Development &amp; Leadership:
 
 Inspire and mentor department heads and staff. Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
 
 
 
 Stakeholder Engagement:
 
 Represent the property with corporate leadership, owners, government bodies, vendors, and the local community.
 
 
 
 Sustainability &amp; Compliance:
 
 Ensure all operations adhere to environmental, health, safety, and statutory compliance. Drive sustainability initiatives aligned with the group's policies.
 
 
 Graduate/Diploma in Hotel Management; MBA is an advantage.
 
 
 
 Experience Required
 
 
 
 Minimum 20+ years of progressive hospitality leadership experience with at least 2&ndash;5 years as a General Manager/Unit Head of a large luxury property.
