PRIMARY FOCUSThe Procurement Manager will plan, organize, direct, manage, evaluate, and is responsible for the budget, purchasing activities, purchasing policies and strategy for LPC including the identification of opportunities for procurement and sourcing improvements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe responsibilities for this position are provided at the highest level within the region and include, but not limited to, the following.Strategic Procurement Leadership&middot; Plan, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate all purchasing activities at LPC&middot; Develop and own the Fiscal Purchasing budget. Drive the team to meet budget expectations. Provide monthly updates and corrective action where needed.&middot; Ensure all purchasing activities support and strengthen the strategic objectives of LPC&rsquo;s procurement model&middot; Participate in make or buy decisions&middot; Participate in new product launches, making recommendations based on vendor costs, quality, capabilities, and feasibilityPolicy &amp; Process Development&middot; Develop and manage LPC&rsquo;s purchasing policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to ensure transparency, fairness, impartiality, and confidentiality&middot; Develop and manage the proposal, bidding, and negotiation process while adhering to legal standards and ethical codes&middot; Comply with and maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, standards, and best practices&middot; Ensure the adequacy of specifications for purchasing purposesSupplier &amp; Contract Management&middot; Identify, qualify, and select vendors of materials, products, or services&middot; Negotiate major purchases and develop blanket or master agreements with suppliers&middot; Conduct overall supplier management&middot; Review supplier financial statements/reports and evaluate overall supplier health (supplier risk assessment)&middot; Review and assess total supply chain risk and identify opportunities to minimize or eliminate itPerformance &amp; Data Analysis&middot; Develop and measure key performance indicators to improve purchasing effectiveness and report to senior management&middot; Maintain current technical skills and apply new knowledge to improve purchasing activities&middot; Analyze purchasing-related information and evaluate results to resolve supply challenges&middot; Analyze market and ERP systems to assess present and future material availability and alternative sources&middot; Maintain master data accuracy in both Business Central and Netstock to support daily, weekly and monthly purchasing activitiesOperational Purchasing &amp; Inventory Control&middot; Manage purchase requisitions/orders for both LPC production plans and multiple Co-Packers&middot; Review records of materials, products, or services ordered and received to ensure accurate ERP entry&middot; Generate and/or review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and demand forecasts&middot; Evaluate cost and quality of materials, equipment, products, or services to meet budget goals&middot; Direct ownership and maintenance of packaging material at copackers and offsite warehouses&middot; Oversee cycle count processes for internal plants and copackers, minimizing write-offs during year-end physical inventory&middot; Drive packaging inventory reduction and inventory turnsTeam Leadership &amp; Development&middot; Interview, select, coach, train, manage, and appraise performance of direct reports&middot; Mentor select staff and foster professional growthStakeholder Engagement&middot; Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders&middot; Communicate information effectively using appropriate methodsLPC VALUES &amp; CULTURE&middot; Champion Company Values: As part of the LPC team, this position is expected to embody the company values in their day-to-day responsibilities.&middot; Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with other teams to achieve shared goals. Be approachable and authentic in your communication style.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSDirect Report(s):&middot; BuyerInternal Relationships:&middot; Operations and Supply ChainExternal Relationships:&middot; Third Party VendorsDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE&middot; A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business or logistics, or a related field is required.&middot; A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Procurement (Buyer and/or Sourcing).&middot; SCMP/PMM/CPM/APICS considered an asset.&middot; Familiarity with potential product quality issues.&middot; Experience leading highly functional teams a plus.&middot; Outstanding organizational skills.&middot; Strong written and verbal communication.&middot; Function in a time sensitive environment.&middot; Able to work independently with minimal supervision.&middot; Some travel expected (i.e. Vendor audits &amp;/or other LPC locations).KEY COMPETENCIES &ndash; Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)Knowledge &middot; A Procurement Manager should have knowledge of supply chain, applicable laws and regulations, and the English language, production and processing, mathematics, personnel and human resources, economics and accounting, relevant tools and technology, customer and personal service, and education and training.&middot; Experience with Microsoft Office SuiteSkills &middot; Procurement Manager should have the following skill sets: negotiation, persuasion, supervisory, active listening and learning, critical thinking, analytical thinking, judgment and decision making, reading comprehension, management of material resources, project management, mathematics, time management, presentation, and operations analysis.
