 The Lubrizol Corporation (Lubrizol) has an opening for an Indian Intellectual Property Counsel to support Lubrizol&rsquo;s global business. This role would be based at our Global Capabilities Center in Pune, India and will report to the Chief IP Counsel in Wickliffe, OH US.
 
 
 
 What You Will Do
 
 
 
 This role will provide in-house counseling to business managers and technical personnel on all intellectual property-related matters, including:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Preparing and prosecuting patent applications for filing in the US, India, and PCT.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conducting and preparing freedom-to-practice studies, analyses and opinions regarding third party intellectual property rights.
 </li>
 <li>
 Drafting, negotiating and managing IP agreements including non-disclosure agreements, joint development agreements, university agreements, consultant agreements, trademark agreements, and licenses.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participating in due diligence regarding M&amp;A.
 </li>
 <li>
 Providing effective guidance with regard to IP risks and strategies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conducting competitive analyses of IP landscapes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Providing intellectual property compliance training.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage and maintain the Lubrizol&rsquo;s patent portfolio in India and abroad
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicating and coordinating with IP attorneys in the US and foreign attorneys.
 </li>
 <li>
 Providing other assistance and support to the Technology, Business, and Legal departments as required.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 What You Need
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
 </li>
 <li>
 Undergraduate or graduate degree Chemistry or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
 </li>
 <li>
 At least 5 years of experience practicing Intellectual Property law in the Chemical and/or Life Science arts in a corporate law department or at a law firm (law firm experience preferred).
 </li>
 <li>
 Admitted to practice before the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trademarks (CGPDTM).
 </li>
 <li>
 Member in good standing with the Bar Council of India.
 </li>
 <li>
 Solid work ethic and commitment to job completion.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team providing timely, clear and concise legal advice in order to accomplish the business objectives of the corporation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Approximately 15 % travel.

 Key Roles And Responsibilities

Indirect procurement Officer

 Summary of the Role:-

 Responsible for managing procurement function of CAPEX Expansion Projects /Facility Expansion at the optimal value (lowest optimal cost along with timely delivery, competitive advantage). Once the project is over resource would need to work at plant site or will take up a new project.
 </li>
 <li>
 Follow established policies, procedures, and guidelines to manage and optimize procurement activities and processes
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsible to guide coach and ensure procurement specialist and sourcing managers align the RPF package to Lubrizol processes, manage timeliness and responsiveness from Vendors by guiding the sourcing specialist.

 Responsible for managing supplier relationship for all Vendors related to the project and ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets are adhered

 Manage and lead activities of CAPEX Spend: and ensure process and timeline adherence from RPF to Execution stage. Procure to Pay cycle. Ensure Project costs targets are met and adhered to.

 Reviewing, vendor management process to ensure analysis of cost comparison and delivery adherence are being evaluated and analysed for procurement proposals for management approvals and reviews for materials and services to be purchased.
 </li>

 To manage the Procurement function within SAP - along the Corporate Sourcing guidelines.
 </li>
 <li>
 Explore Cost saving technique/Identify alternate vendors sourcing to mitigate risk &amp; reduce cost.

 Contractor /Service provider sourcing: Emphasis and adherence on Safety Criteria/Ethics compliance /Due Diligence.

 Ensure legal terms and conditions adherence by vendors/contractors/service providers and guide the procurement team members.
