A Virginia Beach law firm is looking for an experienced paralegal to assist with a very busy family law and criminal law practice. Responsibilities include: management of client files, document review and preparation, use of case management software and systems, management and tracking of discovery, client, court and counsel contacts, and general support of attorneys and staff. They will be able to excel in a team environment and explore methods to streamline tasks and work efficiently. Administrative tasks may be necessary from time to time to keep the team prepared and ahead of court deadlines.This is a fast paced position that requires the candidate to strive for excellence as the work directly affects people&rsquo;s lives. The candidate must have excellent writing and communication skills, be able to prioritize, work independently, analyze documents for accuracy, and pay close attention to detail. In addition, a successful candidate will maintain a sense of professionalism and integrity at all times as well as be coachable. Exceptional interviewing skills combined with strong attention to detail for accurate information gathering is also necessary.The candidate must also be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and be able to learn MyCase.A minimum of one year of family law preferred.
