With two studios bookending the West Coast in Seattle and San Diego, our work spans a wide range of project types including houses and cabins, mixed-use multifamily developments, corporate office buildings and towers, laboratories, K-12 schools, higher education buildings, city halls, community centers, libraries, fire stations, airports, international border crossings, and embassies.
Who We Seek
We are looking for highly self-motivated professionals who have&hellip;<ul><li>
A professional degree in interior design</li><li>
Eight (8) to Twelve (12) years of post-graduate experience with interior focused projects in Education, focused in the State of California and a preference for work within the SDUSD and the SDCCD</li><li>
Higher Education experience preferred</li><li>
NCIDQ Certification required</li><li>
Proven personal experience with detailing and processing drawings through the Department of State Architect (DSA)</li><li>
Proficiency with Revit, Presentation software (Rhino, Lumion, Enscape) Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office platforms.</li><li>
Project knowledge as it relates to interior assemblies, finishes, casework, millwork and subsequent specification</li><li>
Contributed meaningfully to projects that required a high level of interdisciplinary collaboration.</li><li>
An eagerness to both learn from and teach others in a team environment.</li><li>
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.</li><li>
The ability to be detail oriented and a critical design thinker</li><li>
A refined interior design sensibility with a capacity to generate compelling presentations, graphics, diagrams, hand-sketches and renderings.</li><li>
A commitment and interest in pushing new design frontiers at the intersection of social equity and environmental sustainability.</li><li>
An understanding and interest in material exploration, research and project knowledge, particularly with how it relates to Red List chemicals</li><li>
A high level of engagement with their work and deep curiosity about its relationship to broader issues.</li></ul>

The base annual salary range for this position is between $95,000 and $110,000 and does not include the value of bonuses, profit-sharing, and other benefits noted above.
We greatly value our culture of collaboration and mentorship and have established minimum required core hours for our entire team to be in-person together in our two studios. Remote work options are available outside of these core hours.

What You'll Do
As a team member with us your responsibilities will include&hellip;<ul><li>
Developing space planning concepts and generating program documents.</li><li>
Collaboration with the design team to help shape the user experience at a variety of project types and scales: core and shell to interior TI focused projects.</li><li>
Extensive experience with technical aspects of interior architecture and assembling construction documents for interior environments including millwork and detailing.</li><li>
Working with a project team including multidisciplinary coordination and collaboration.</li><li>
Demonstrating a high level of understanding of design concepts and ability to apply and execute assigned tasks and responsibilities which further the design concept.</li><li>
Being flexible and effective in order to work on multiple projects in various stages of development and scale.</li><li>
Well-versed with selection of color palettes, material presentations &amp; design selection and specification of FF&amp;E</li></ul>
