Position Summary: 
The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is committed to providing news and analysis to manufacturers and a wide variety of other audiences, including policymakers and the public. We are seeking a digital content editor with superb writing skills and the ability to find stories that will hold readers’ attention.
 
The Digital Content Editor is a motivated self-starter who understands how online readers consume news and can operate under tight deadlines. He or she can work independently as well as in close communication with many colleagues at a large organization. This position requires a mixture of diplomacy, writing talent, and initiative: the Digital Content Editor is able to identify a story topic, find and contact the right sources, and write it up in a compelling, concise article.
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Create compelling, readable articles for the NAM’s newsletters and websites, ensuring these support the NAM’s many policy priorities and organizational interests</li>
<li>Scour the internet on an ongoing basis, keeping track of major news stories and finding opportunities for NAM commentary or tie-ins</li>
<li>Edit and post content in the content management system</li>
<li>Work collaboratively and facilitate relationships with internal and external stakeholders</li>
<li>Conduct interviews with manufacturers</li>
</ul>

Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in English, political science, journalism, communications or a related field preferred</li>
<li>3+ years of writing and editing experience</li>
<li>Must have experience working within content management systems and some familiarity with social platforms</li>
<li>Previous experience at a newspaper, journal, think tank or other policy establishment preferred</li>
<li>Knowledge of HTML, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus</li>
<li>Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.</li>
<li>Strong team player and ability to pivot in a fast-paced environment.</li>
</ul>

Salary Range: $74,000 - $84,000 annually. This salary range represents a good-faith estimate of the lowest to the highest salary for this position. The final salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
