About the Position: Preschool Lead Teacher-
We are seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Lead Teacher to join our team. In this role, you&rsquo;ll support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that promotes the growth and development of young children.

Responsibilities<ul><li>
Support daily activities that promote physical, mental, and social development &mdash; including games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and occasional field trips. 
</li><li>
Build strong, respectful relationships with children by demonstrating courtesy, patience, and acceptance. 
</li><li>
Help maintain classroom safety, order, and routine by reinforcing behavioral expectations and procedures. 
</li><li>
Facilitate balanced instructional experiences that encourage learning through observation, questioning, play, and discovery. 
</li><li>
Adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the individual needs and interests of children. 
</li><li>
Greet children warmly and assist with transitioning them into the school environment. 
</li><li>
Provide age-appropriate care, including feeding, dressing, and diapering as needed. 
</li><li>
Promote proper hygiene and healthy eating habits through modeling and instruction.</li></ul> 
Work Environment
This position is based in a childcare center environment and involves daily interaction with children in early learning classrooms.
Physical Demands<ul><li>
Must be able to frequently sit, and occasionally climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
</li><li>
Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds. 
</li><li>
Must have the ability to see at close and far distances, distinguish colors, and adjust focus as needed.</li></ul> 
Schedule<ul><li>
Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Occasional extended hours may be required to support center operations.</li></ul> 
Travel<ul><li>
Minimal local travel may be required for training or professional development.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Required Education and Experience<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>
Meet HHS minimum education and experience requirements</li></ul>
Preferred Education and Experience<ul><li>
Prior teaching experience</li></ul>
Additional Eligibility Qualifications<ul><li>
Meet minimum age, education, background check and medical qualifications for caregivers established by DFPS Licensing</li><li>
Complete annual training required by DFPS Licensing</li><li>
Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certifications</li><li>
If transporting children, Class C driver license with clear Department of Public Safety record and two hours of transportation training annually.</li></ul></div>
