About the Internship
The Social Media internship is all about giving you real-world experience while helping our team find creative and unique ways to tell the Port Authority's story: how we move the New York and New Jersey metropolitan region by air, land, rail and sea and play a major role in being an economic engine to the region's vitality. You'll be part of the Social Media Marketing team, working on identifying social trends, writing copy, capturing photo and video assets and actively prepare posts for publishing on our various social platforms (most notably Instagram). Additionally, you'll gain experience collaborating with other inter-department teams to prepare and finalize your work.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Monitor social media conversation across the web, develop social content (including writing and visuals), and research social media trends.</li></ul>
Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>
Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship</li></ul>

Self-starter and the ability to work well independently.</li><li>
Demonstrated writing ability.</li><li>
Demonstrated knowledge of Photo Shop and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.</li><li>

Demonstrated knowledge of Internet use and research.</li><li>

The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 21, 2026</li><li>
This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)</li><li>
In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits interns to work remotely a maximum of one day per week. In person collaboration is essential to how the Port Authority conducts business and regular in-office days or team collaboration days may be required depending on business needs. Some internships may require interns to be fully in-person.</li></ul>

About the Internship
Interns with the Office of Media Relations get front-row, hands-on experience at how one of the country's busiest transportation agencies interacts with the country's most dynamic news media environment. Responsibilities are aligned with providing experiences and opportunities for future comms professionals to draft media communications; staff and plan media events; write and report stories that offer an inside look at Port Authority projects and initiatives; and go behind the scenes at the facilities that keep the New York/New Jersey region moving. This is an unique opportunity for students pursuing a public sector career or future employment in communications, journalism, or public relations to engage in meaningful work at an agency in the midst of several transformative capital projects such as the redevelopments of John F. Kennedy International and Newark Liberty International airports, the replacement of the Midtown Bus Terminal, the once-in-a-generation rehabilitation of the George Washington Bridge, among other high-profile and highly impactful infrastructure projects that affect almost every person who lives or works in the New York-New Jersey region. The Office of Media Relations tells the Port Authority's story to the world, and we're looking for interns who are curious about how infrastructure drives the metropolitan New York City area. 
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Write and edit content for weekly employee email newsletter.
</li><li>Proactively develop content and stories for the employee intranet, including photography and video content, on topics such as employee profiles and human-interest stories, department features, and project updates.
</li><li>Post, edit and maintain content on the employee intranet.</li><li>
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and creative team to develop screensavers, posters, brochures and other collateral.</li><li>
Contribute to strategy and implementation of employee communications campaigns.</li><li>
Manage internal content calendar and coordination of review and approvals process for communications deliverables.</li><li>
Assist team in developing, implementing and staffing employee-facing events, both in-person and virtual.
</li><li>Track and analyze success of the agency's internal communications efforts.</li></ul>
Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>

Major in English literature, journalism, public relations, political science, communications or a related field.</li><li>

Summer Intern, Media Relations

AttorneyThe Law Department is seeking a highly talented and experienced litigator to join its litigation unit reporting to the Assistant General Counsel of Litigation. The successful candidate must have at least five years of civil litigation experience practicing in New York and/or New Jersey. They will be expected to work both independently and cooperatively handling cases from inception to conclusion, including trials and appeals. Experience developing commercial and general civil litigation strategy, taking and defending depositions, making court appearances, preparing motions, conducting jury trials, and drafting and arguing appeals is required. Areas of practice include contracts, real estate, landlord tenant, bankruptcy, employment discrimination (Title VII), labor, personal injury, property damage, civil rights (ADA, ADEA, 42 USC &sect;&sect; 1981 and1983, 14th Amendment, etc.), administrative proceedings, FELA, environmental (state and federal), and insurance.
