Bachelor&rsquo;s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in biology, biochemistry, or a related science field. Research activity experience. Experience in operating equipment, carrying out test procedures and using special methods for data collection and interpretation. Experience working with Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) database.<br>

<b>Preferred Qualifications:</b><br>
Experience in a biology laboratory environment with laboratory equipment. Experience with biology techniques. Experience with working in a wet lab. Experience with rodent models. Experience with literature review/manuscript/grant writing. Experience with computers and data management (Excel, SPSS). Experience with statistical analysis. Familiarity with management of a mouse colony.<br>
<br>
<b>Brief Description of Duties:</b><br>
Within defined test or analytical protocols, operate equipment, carry out test procedures, as well as collate and interpret data using special methods in support of a research project or program for Dr. Tassiopoulos in the Department of Surgery. The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.</p><p><b><br>
Duties:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Provide experimental support for PI, conduct experiments as directed.</p></li><li><p>
Analyze data.</p></li><li><p>
Prepare microscopy.</p></li><li><p>
Provide general laboratory support including ordering supplies and maintaining accurate laboratory records.</p></li><li><p>
Other duties as assigned.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>

Research Support Specialist

Bachelor&rsquo;s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time experience in professional writing and/or related fields. Experience in proposal development, grant writing, and/or donor communications. Experience in higher education, nonprofit, and/or healthcare organizations.<br>

<b>Preferred Qualifications:</b><br>
At least (1) one additional year of experience in professional writing and/or related fields. Experience working with philanthropic communications, stewardship reporting, and donor cultivation strategies.<br>
<br>
<b>Brief Description of Duties:</b><br>
The Stony Brook University Advancement Proposal Development and Compliance Specialist will support the Advancement team by producing, editing, and standardizing a high volume of fundraising proposals, cases for support, and related materials. This role ensures proposals are accurate, persuasive, and aligned with Stony Brook University and Advancement priorities. The Proposal Development and Compliance Specialist collaborates with development officers and colleagues across Advancement to gather program details, budgets, and supporting information, while ensuring materials comply with gift rules and can be delivered on tight deadlines.</div><ul><li><b><br>
Proposal Writing and Editing:</b><ul><li>
Write and edit a large volume of fundraising proposals, cases for support, short summaries, and solicitation materials.</li><li>
Develop, adapt and customize content that clearly outlines funding needs, goals, and expected outcomes.</li><li>
Ensure proposals are consistent in tone, style, and messaging, aligned with institutional priorities.</li><li>
Confirm all proposals comply with fundraising guidelines, policies, and donor intent.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li><b>
Project Management:</b><ul><li>
Plan, track, and manage proposals ensuring timely and accurate completion while proactively communicating updates to the team.</li><li>
Projects will include but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Create and manage proposal templates, style guides, and boilerplate language to streamline production.</li><li>
Partner with development officers to collect information and budgets needed for proposals.</li><li>
Maintain organized systems to support efficient proposal creation across Advancement.</li></ul></li></ul></li></ul><ul><li><b>
Cross-Functional Collaboration:</b><ul><li>
Partner with the Development team, Constituent Experience team and key stakeholders to collect and translate information into clear, proposal-ready language.</li><li>
