About The Tribune
The Salt Lake Tribune has been Utah&rsquo;s independent voice since 1871. In 2019, we became the first legacy U.S. newspaper to transition to nonprofit status, helping to lead a national movement toward sustainable local journalism.
Now we are seeking to build upon our foundation by expanding statewide, launching new event series, and introducing a membership program.
The Role
The Development Coordinator will join a nine-person revenue team and support all aspects of nonprofit fundraising, including individual, corporate, and grant giving. This role will:<ul><li>
Help lead small-dollar donor engagement and stewardship</li><li>
Support major gift cultivation in partnership with the Chief Development Officer</li><li>
Support in grant writing and reporting in partnership with the CDO and development team</li><li>
Manage select donor campaigns</li><li>
Assist in data entry and reporting for all philanthropic giving at The Tribune</li><li>
Help produce events to strengthen relationships with donors, prospects, and readers.</li></ul>

What You&rsquo;ll Do
Donor Relations<ul><li>
Serve as the primary contact for small-dollar donors</li><li>
Manage donor benefits</li><li>
Develop and manage stewardship plans; respond to donor inquiries via email/phone</li><li>
Assist with major donor communications</li></ul>
Campaigns &amp; Communications<ul><li>
Project manage small-dollar campaigns (list creation, deadlines, print/mail coordination)</li><li>
Assist in writing campaign communications</li></ul>
Database &amp; Grants<ul><li>
Co-manage donation processing and database accuracy (Salesforce or comparable CRM)</li><li>
Research grant opportunities, maintain grant calendar, and assist with grant writing</li><li>
Support departmental project management, including weekly/monthly reporting</li></ul>
Events &amp; Reporting<ul><li>
Help plan and execute development events (occasional nights/weekends required)</li></ul>

Requirements:

What We're Looking For<ul><li>
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities</li><li>
Strong writing and communication skills</li><li>
Proficiency with Google Suite and Excel</li><li>
Comfortable attending events and speaking with donors/prospects</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent experience</li><li>
Proficiency with Salesforce (or comparable donor database)</li><li>
Experience with campaign/project management</li><li>
Marketing and presentation skills (deck creation, donor communications)</li><li>
Experience with grants or nonprofit fundraising</li></ul></div>
