The Service Specialist is an excellent entry level store position, with many opportunities for growth and learning within our Save Mart family of businesses in the grocery industry. Our Service Specialists play an important role in the efficient operations of the front-end, by providing friendly, fast and effective customer service. Routine and daily cleaning of registers and belts, emptying check stand trash cans, dusting and facing shelves.</li><li>
Collect all shopping carts from the parking lot, maintaining a cart-free lot throughout the duration of your shift.</li><li>
Perform price checks, and assist with go backs returning items to correct location, with perishables being the first priority.</li><li>
Assisting Clerks to move lines quickly at busy times by bagging groceries quickly and efficiently, taking care to protect quality and condition of items.</li><li>

Job Summary
The Multi-Purpose Clerk - Night Crew is responsible for a variety of clerk positions, and workers are cross-trained and internally certified for these positions on an ongoing basis. Areas of responsibilities include stocking grocery store shelves, pricing new items, offloading shipment, unwrapping, rotating and packing boxes on an overnight shift. Other duties include order writing, Freshness/Quality (code checking), Item to tag integrity, report all risks or safety issues to management, ensure proper temperatures in cases/coolers, maintain inventory accuracy, and operate check stand. The Multi-Purpose Clerk - Night Crew practices maintaining a clean work area, orderly and free from safety hazards. 
Responsibilities

The Multi-Purpose Clerk may be assigned to one of several departments within the store &ndash; to include Center Store, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, or Janitorial. The Multi-Purpose Clerk is responsible for promoting sales within assigned department, answering our customers&rsquo; questions, responding to customer requests for products, and accurately placing special orders. The Multi-Purpose Clerk practices safe food handling procedures, maintaining clean work area, orderly and free from safety hazards. The Clerk receives, inspects, and logs products for accuracy of shipment and quality as well as stocks, rotates, and merchandises product to maintain freshness and department appeal.

The Multi-Purpose Clerk may be assigned to any of the following assignments/departments:
<ul><li> Center Store/Front End &ndash; Operate the check-stand according to company policy and procedures, memorize PLU codes and keep up to date with new products; order, receive, unload, stock and rotate product onto shelves and cases in all areas of center store operations; merchandise product and perform Point-Of-Sale (POS) and inventory activities
</li></ul><ul><li> Produce - Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment and quality; trim, wash, and wrap produce according to company policy; stock, rotate, and merchandise product to maintain freshness and department appeal; maintain floral area both inside and outside of store; keep all areas and equipment of the department clean</li></ul>
<ul><li> Meat/Seafood - Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment and quality; weigh, wrap/package and label products for display; stock, rotate and merchandise product to maintain freshness and department appeal; provide customer service at the seafood counter; take special orders for items such as custom cuts of meat or holiday items; may operate equipment such as slicers and wrappers; keep all areas and equipment of the department clean
</li></ul><ul><li> Bakery/Deli - Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment and quality; prepare, weigh, package, and label products for display; stock, rotate, and merchandise baked goods and deli products to maintain freshness and department appeal; take special orders for items such as cakes and party trays; may operate equipment such as ovens, proofers, slicers, and mixers; keep all areas and equipment of the department clean</li></ul>
<ul><li> Janitorial - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store; sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas; clean restrooms, break room, office areas, shelving and cases, front end equipment, shopping carts, and vending machines; clean front of store and parking lot, and empty trash; may operate janitorial equipment such as scrubbers and buffers</li></ul>

Assistant Store Manager - FoodMaxx - 1972 Tully Road, San Jose, CA 95122
The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) at Food Maxx works in tandem and close collaboration with the Store Manager to direct and lead all aspects of the overall and day-to-day store operations. The ASM is accountable for effectively managing Food Maxx store conditions, overseeing product quality, and always maintaining store inventory. The ASM assumes full control of the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
The Assistant Store Manager leads and directs the front-end to meet or exceed expected company service levels. The ASM is directly responsible for understanding the unique retail operations of a cost directed operation and achieving maximum sales and gross profits for total store operations. The ASM is tasked with leading Food Maxx department managers to devise and implement strategies that control labor, utilities, and other operating expenses, ensuring compliance with all related laws and company programs, and meeting or exceeding all budgets and goals.
The ASM develops and implements the weekly work schedules for Food Maxx Team Members to achieve optimal labor efficiency and service; oversees hiring, training, and developing team members' work performance to continually exceed customer expectations; manages and directs the in-store training program; and contributes to the professional development of all store Team Members.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
