As a Sunshiner, you'll work one-on-one with our students, creating personalized lesson plans and providing academic support, mentorship, and personal advocacy for students in our underserved communities, such as:<ul><li>Foster Care Programs</li><li>Children&rsquo;s Hospitals</li><li>Refugee Programs</li><li>Students with special needs, learning disabilities, or emotional behavior disorders</li><li>Title I and Low Income Families</li></ul>Tutor Responsibilities:<ul><li>The ability to work autonomously to create personalized instruction and mentorship to young and struggling learners</li><li>Conduct structured and organized lessons in your student&rsquo;s home, in public locations, or over the internet (remote work only)</li><li>Be an advocate for higher education, post secondary instruction, or career focused training</li><li>Creating a safe and positive learning environment for your students</li><li>Mentoring</li></ul>Tutor Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or in progress of obtaining one. Prior experience in education or a related field will be considered in lieu of having a higher education degree</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of teaching/tutoring or related experience</li><li>Prior experience mentoring preferred</li><li>Special Education, Bilingual, and other additional certifications a plus (but not required)</li><li>Access to a computer or smart device with a webcam and microphone, and reliable internet access</li><li>Must pass a level 2 background check allowing you to work with minors</li><li>For in person tutoring positions, access to a reliable means of transportation</li></ul>Tutor Compensation:<ul><li>Remote/online positions range from $15-18/hr</li><li>In-person positions start at $22/hr</li><li>Flexible after-school and weekend hours</li></ul>Tutor Rewards:<ul><li>Lesson planning and curriculum building skills</li><li>Networking opportunities</li><li>Growth and development of interpersonal and other soft skills</li><li>Flexible schedule, with after-school and weekend hours, and the autonomy to choose the students your work with.</li><li>Work from home opportunities</li><li>A supplemental income that is both rewarding and fulfilling</li><li>Creating impactful change to the education of students in your local and national communities</li></ul>Since 2012, The Sunshine Method has impacted the lives of over 25,000 students in 400+ communities, and we're just getting started.
