The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking Patient Care Technicians in the Surgery Specialty Services Unit (2RC) to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses. This unit is part of the Medical Surgical Services (MSS) Division.

The Adult Acute Care Unit is a 30-bed, medical surgical unit. We serve a variety of patient populations including the Family Medicine service along with specialized surgical patients. The surgical patients include otolaryngology (ENT), oral surgery, and plastic reconstructive surgery. We are able to provide our patients with all private rooms, which allows for a more comfortable experience for both patients and their families. We have a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team that helps to provide excellent patient care to all patients on our unit. Our goal is to provide each patient an individualized care plan, and provide them the support and care they need and deserve.

PRN Patient Care Technician - 2JCP Adult Acute Care

<div><p>The Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Manager provides clinical leadership to pharmacists, pharmacy specialists, residents, and student interns within the Specialty Pharmacy Program in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care. This role primarily oversees pharmacists embedded within adult and pediatric multidisciplinary clinic teams. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule upon successful completion of orientation.</p><p>
Responsibilities include: Serving as a leader on the Clinical Oversight Committee and a member of the Quality and Performance Improvement group, while contributing to other relevant committees. Supports development of new healthcare initiatives, identifies opportunities to enhance patient safety, and evaluates clinical services to address gaps and implement solutions. Oversee clinical staff performance, provides coaching for improvement, and leads recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of ambulatory care clinical pharmacy specialists. Collaborates with leadership and staff to promote safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication use processes. Works closely with pharmacy leadership to advance patient safety through technology optimization and program development. This role requires strong communication, organization, strategic planning, personnel management, data analysis, and process improvement skills, along with the ability to operate independently with a high degree of innovation, judgment, and flexibility.</p><p>
This position is eligible for <b>hybrid </b>work within Iowa upon completion of orientation and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Assists in the planning of the delivery and improvement of clinical ambulatory pharmacy services, programs and personnel both on and off campus. Assigns tasks to staff and monitors individual and team progress.</p></li><li><p>
Assists ambulatory care pharmacy managers to coordinate the overall ambulatory care clinical pharmacy services and to identify and evaluate outcomes measures to maximize productivity, clinical outcomes, and financial impact.</p></li><li><p>
Works with the appropriate ambulatory care pharmacy managers to coordinate ambulatory care clinical pharmacy services with physicians, nursing, laboratory, and other personnel and develop and assist in the implementation of clinical pathways and therapeutic guidelines. The Support Services Specialist provides prescription support services for patients to assure effective and efficient delivery of health care.
