Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team for night shift. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in a long-term care or assisted living environment, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. You will work closely with individuals who may have varying degrees of physical and cognitive challenges, including those with Alzheimer&rsquo;s and dementia. Your commitment to quality care will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.</li><li>Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a warm and welcoming environment.</li><li>Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs and reporting any changes in condition to nursing staff.</li><li>Administer medications as prescribed and ensure accurate documentation of medication administration.</li><li>Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.</li><li>Maintain a clean and safe living environment for all residents by following infection control protocols.</li><li>Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in programs designed for cognitive stimulation.</li><li>Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident&rsquo;s needs.</li><li>Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in senior care settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care is preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation practices, and EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Cerner, eClinicalWorks) is advantageous.</li><li>Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care is a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of basic life support techniques and vital signs monitoring is essential.</li><li>A background in critical care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine can be beneficial for this role.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when required.</li><li>Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.</li><li>Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
