Job Description</b></h2><p><br>
Vertex is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Surety team! This role provides the opportunity to leverage your expertise in evaluating construction claims, assess project risks, and support surety providers in navigating complex challenges.</p><br>
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Core Responsibilities</b></h2><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Work Product Creation, Project Management, Coordination with Team Members</b></h3><ul><li>
Manage construction projects, including on-site supervision and compliance monitoring</li><li>
Investigate and analyze performance and payment bond claims, contractor defaults, and construction deficiencies</li><li>
Review construction documents, prepare technical reports, and conduct project schedule analysis</li><li>
Perform construction project financial audits and evaluate contract claims</li><li>
Prepare and monitor consulting budgets while maintaining targeted billability</li><li>
Develop and maintain key client relationships</li><li>
Participate in technical presentations and prepare marketing materials</li><li>
Travel as required for projects. Travel includes both local and national travel, with minimal notice</li></ul><p></p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Operations</b></h3><ul><li>
Be aware of and perform own tasks in a manner that supports the organization&rsquo;s vision and defined business objectives</li><li>
Conduct self and prioritize tasks to work toward achievement of defined profit objectives of assigned projects</li><li>
Cooperate in construction of strong cross-functional teams (support staff assignments of self) to achieve success in shared goals, understanding that multiple perspectives and talents build stronger teams and results</li><li>
Complete daily tasks consistent with contract requirements and proactively alert assigned manager to any potential challenges or issues</li><li>
Ensure compliance of operations with all local, state and Federal (and International, if applicable) regulations, as well as compliance with company policy</li><li>
Ensure consistent high quality on deliverables for all individual work product</li><li>

Qualifications &amp; Competencies</b></h2><ul><li>
Bachelor's degree and 12 years of related experience or a Master's degree and 8 years of related experience.</li><li>
Professional certifications (PE, RA, CDT, CCCA, or CCM) will receive special consideration</li></ul><p></p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Knowledge &amp; Skills</b></h3><ul><li>
Experience in providing reliable work product review as assigned</li><li>
Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers and Supervisors, and clients, subcontractors, and vendors as assigned</li><li>
Strong communication and organizational skills</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>
Demonstrated self-awareness and flexibility in working with a variety of personalities and work styles (colleagues, clients, Assigned Managing Director(s))</li><li>
Able to handle multiple priorities and perform consistently and positively under high stress conditions</li><li>
Knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe) required</li></ul><p></p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
