About the Role
You&rsquo;ll be a hands-on senior engineer at the heart of our data transformation. You won&rsquo;t just deliver pipelines. You&rsquo;ll shape how we build them, how we scale them and how we make them better.
You&rsquo;ll work with modern cloud technologies, help evolve our data platform and influence engineering standards across the team. You&rsquo;ll also support and mentor others, helping create a strong, collaborative engineering culture.

Day to day you will be working on the following.<ul><li>
Designing and building scalable, reliable data pipelines that power key business decisions</li><li>
Shaping our cloud-based data platform, improving performance, cost, and usability</li><li>
Taking ownership of solutions from idea through to production and beyond</li><li>
Driving improvements in how we build, deploy and monitor data products</li><li>
Troubleshooting complex data issues and making them disappear for good</li><li>
Supporting releases and ensuring everything we ship is stable and observable</li><li>
Raising engineering standards through code reviews, reusable patterns and best practice</li><li>
Coaching and mentoring other engineers, helping them grow and succeed</li><li>
Collaborating with product, platform and engineering teams to deliver meaningful outcomes</li><li>
Contributing to technical decisions that improve scalability, reliability and speed</li></ul>
About you
You&rsquo;re someone who enjoys building things that matter and making them better over time.
You&rsquo;ll likely bring:<ul><li>
Strong experience designing and delivering production-grade data solutions</li><li>
Confidence working with cloud technologies, AWS is preferred.</li><li>
Solid coding skills in languages like Python, SQL / Java or Scala</li><li>
Experience working with large-scale data platforms, data lakes or warehouses</li><li>
A good understanding of modern data concepts like Lakehouse, ingestion and analytics</li><li>
Experience across the full delivery lifecycle, from design to support</li><li>
A mindset focused on quality, simplicity and continuous improvement</li><li>

1st Stage - 30 Minutes Teams call - likely with our Data Engineering Manager, we will then share a Take Home Task.
2nd Stage - A one hour technical interview to discuss your take home test in more detail.

About the role

As a Principal Platform Engineer, you&rsquo;ll shape the platforms that hundreds of engineers rely on every day. You&rsquo;ll make it faster to build, safer to release and easier to scale. The impact of your work will be felt across every product, every team and every customer experience we deliver.

Shape and evolve our cloud infrastructure so it&rsquo;s secure, scalable and built for reuse</li><li>
Make it easier for engineers to build and release by improving CI/CD pipelines and automation</li><li>

Solve complex platform challenges and guide teams through them with practical, hands-on support</li><li>
Connect systems, platforms and services so they work seamlessly together</li><li>

About You
You&rsquo;re someone who enjoys getting underneath the surface of complex systems and figuring out how to make them work better.
You&rsquo;re comfortable balancing hands-on engineering with bigger-picture thinking, and you naturally look for ways to improve how things are done.
You&rsquo;ll bring:<ul><li>
Strong troubleshooting skills and a curiosity for how systems behave in the real world</li><li>
Experience working with cloud infrastructure, automation and configuration management</li><li>
A solid background in scripting or programming, whether that&rsquo;s Java, Python, Bash or similar</li><li>
Confidence working across Linux environments, networking fundamentals and integrated systems</li><li>
An understanding of CI/CD and version control, and how they come together to support great delivery</li><li>
Experience working in complex environments where scale, reliability and dependencies really matter.</li></ul>

For this role after meeting our Talent Acquisition Team you can expect a 2 stage process.
First Stage - A Technical Interview - likely to be on Teams
Second Stage - Behavioural Interview, this interview focuses more on your softer skills, how you like to work as part of a Software Engineering Team (60 minutes onsite)
