The Vinyl Institute is looking for a dynamic, early‑career communicator to help drive press, digital media, and multimedia storytelling that elevates the vinyl industry and the work of the Vinyl Sustainability Council.If you&rsquo;re passionate about media, storytelling, and shaping narratives&mdash;and thrive in a fast‑paced environment&mdash;this role is for you.What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>Support and execute media relations strategy to position the vinyl industry and VSC positively.</li><li>Write and distribute press releases, statements, talking points, and media materials.</li><li>Monitor media coverage + social conversations and recommend proactive and rapid‑response communications.</li><li>Identify compelling stories and package them for press, podcasts, and digital channels.</li><li>Produce and edit short‑form video content for social, events, and web.</li><li>Collaborate on digital content creation and track engagement analytics.</li><li>Support events with media capture, speaker briefings, and logistics.</li><li>Build relationships with reporters and trade media across vinyl, plastics, chemical, and manufacturing sectors.</li><li>Event &amp; Project Support</li><li>Support media and content capture at events.</li><li>Assist in developing run‑of‑show documents, speaker briefings, and onsite logistics.</li><li>Coordinate with consultants or freelancers on multimedia projects as needed.</li><li>Take official minutes of Board level meetings.</li><li>IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE </li><li>Track policy developments and public sentiment to inform communications strategy.</li><li>3&ndash;5 years&rsquo; experience in communications, journalism, digital media, or a related field.</li><li>Strong writing and editing skills with a knack for clear, compelling messaging.</li><li>Basic video production skills (camera, lighting, editing software like Premiere or Final Cut).</li><li>Familiarity with media outreach, podcasts, and social media best practices.</li><li>Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment; Hill/campaign experience is a plus.</li></ul>Pay: $51,400.22 - $61,901.34 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
