The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks associated with the maintenance, repair and operation of Distribution Center (DC) equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic will work independently and with the Facilities Team performing various tasks while meeting safety, quality, productivity, attendance and behavioral Vitamin Shoppe expectations. The Maintenance Mechanic effectively and efficiently uses established procedures, tools, equipment, and technologies to complete assigned duties. The Maintenance Mechanic retains the knowledge from training to complete the tasks associated with re-occurring duties and assignments.
Responsibilities:

Assist the team/Work independently in the inspection, repair, adjustment, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of the conveyor system, bringing any issues to the attention of the Sr. Maintenance Technician and/or Facilities Manager.</div><ul><li>
Electrical control wiring and corresponding devices using high &amp; low voltage applications.</li><li>
Fortna sortation system Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).</li><li>
Datalogic scanners</li><li>
Mechanical assemblies &amp; components, fabricated parts, belting</li></ul><div>
Assist the team/Work independently in the inspection, repair, adjustment, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of the material handling equipment (forklift) fleet, bringing any issues to the attention of the Sr. Maintenance Technician and/or Facilities Manager.</div><ul><li>
Operation of all types of facility MHE including scissor and boom lifts</li><li>
Battery fleet and chargers; cleaning, watering, repairs</li><li>
Basic/Minor MHE repairs including preventive maintenance routines</li></ul><div>
Assist the team/Work independently in the operation, testing, troubleshooting, diagnosis and correction of deficiencies in critical equipment/systems.</div><ul><li>
Fire Suppression: sprinkler system, fire extinguishers</li><li>
HVAC: RTU &amp; BAF</li><li>
Temperature control &amp; monitoring</li><li>
Lighting Systems</li><li>
Generators</li><li>
IT Servers/Communication Devices</li></ul><div>
Assist the team/Work independently in the operation, testing, troubleshooting, diagnosis and correction of deficiencies in non-critical equipment/systems.</div><ul><li>
Operations: carton erector, void-fill machines, vertical lift, Pick-to-Light system, floor scrubber</li><li>
Dock Equipment: levelers, doors, trailer restraints, fans, lighting</li><li>
Other: Cardboard/plastic baler, shelving, ladders, netting, warehouse signage, tote wash area, parking lot/outdoor maintenance equipment</li></ul><div>
Complies with Vitamin Shoppe&rsquo;s policies, guidelines and procedures as well as federal &amp; state regulations including OSHA requirements, in the storage, handling and movement of product.</div><ul><li>
Complete work orders and assignments in a timely fashion in accordance with instructions, manufacturer&rsquo;s recommendations and established policies and procedures</li><li>
Follows all incident-prevention procedures to ensure their own safety as well as others
</li><li>Assist in the performance of preventive maintenance as assigned and completes required documentation</li><li>
Identify process improvements and bring them to the attention of the Senior Maintenance Technician and/or Facilities Manager.</li></ul>
Other Functions:

Qualifications:

 The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the performance of the assigned warehouse department to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, continual process improvement, and support of the Operations Manager by coordinating warehouse associate job duties, communication, reporting, and area based projects. They will provide analytical support, conduct root-cause analysis, and own the update and maintenance of reports pertinent to the department they report to. The Lead will support ongoing training needs in their environment, ensuring all warehouse associates are trained and performing responsibilities according to area&rsquo;s standard operating procedures.
