Be a part of our passion for creating the ultimate guest experience and be inspired by the surroundings you work in and the people you work with at The Wickwood Inn.Job Summary:The Chef will participate in all aspects of executing our breakfast, lunch, baked goods and snacks throughout the day at our Inn.Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Adhere to and consistently, precisely execute chef-created menus</li><li>Help with food inventory to control waste and food costs</li><li>Plate and present menu items in an elegant manner</li><li>Ensure safe food handling practices</li><li>Ensure safety and cleanliness of kitchen</li><li>Execute dishwashing and organization throughout service</li></ul>Successful Candidate Qualities:<ul><li>Gracious people skills</li><li>Attentive to detail and accuracy</li><li>Strong communication skills</li><li>Ability to work with liquid and dry measurements and practical math</li><li>Excellent prioritization and organizational skills</li><li>Calm and courteous under pressure</li><li>Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment</li><li>Ability to instruct and demonstrate for co-workers</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Reading, writing and verbal proficiency in the English language</li><li>1-2 years&rsquo; experience working in a professional kitchen</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>Availability to work full-time with shifts beginning at 6:00 a.m.</li><li>Availability to work weekends and some holidays is a must.</li></ul>Experience with all aspects of prep and execution of breakfast menu, food handling certification and culinary training are pluses.
