About The Position
TherapyNotes is seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Development Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide people leadership, technical guidance across multiple agile development teams. You will focus on cultivating talent, strengthening development processes, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that support our organizational goals. This position offers an opportunity to influence both people and technical strategy while contributing to a mission-driven organization. This is a hybrid position, requiring the manager to be onsite regularly, currently 1-2 days per week.
What You'll Do
Team Leadership and Coaching<ul>
<li>
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers and technical staff, providing ongoing feedback, career development support, and performance management.</li>
<li>Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and technical excellence.</li>
<li>Champion best practices in software development, agile methodologies, and quality standards.</li>
</ul>
Delivery and Execution<ul>
<li>
Work onsite regularly (typically one to two days per week) to fulfill essential management functions, including cross-functional coordination, participation in leadership meetings, and timely resolution of operational issues.</li>
<li>Partner closely with Product Management and other stakeholders to align development efforts with business priorities and product roadmaps.</li>
<li>Ensure teams are properly staffed, skilled, and positioned for successful execution of projects and initiatives.</li>
<li>Oversee day-to-day operations, including team planning, backlog grooming, code reviews, deployments, system health monitoring, and cross-team coordination.</li>
</ul>
Process and Operational Excellence<ul>
<li>
Identify and implement process improvements to increase team productivity, code quality, and overall efficiency.</li>
<li>Foster a flexible and supportive work environment for a distributed workforce.</li>
<li>Drive consistency in development processes, architectural standards, and engineering practices across teams.</li>
</ul>
Organizational Communication<ul>
<li>
Serve as a key liaison between development teams and leadership.</li>
<li>Communicate organizational updates clearly and consistently, ensuring team alignment with company policies, strategic initiatives, and operational expectations.</li>
</ul>
What We're Looking For<ul>
<li>
5+ years directly managing software development teams.</li>
<li>10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with a strong background in modern web development and Agile processes.</li>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related software development-oriented discipline.</li>
<li>Strong technical foundation, including:</li>
<li><ul><li>Expertise in ASP.NET Core (C#), JavaScript, TypeScript, SOA, SQL and CSS. Experience with Angular 17+ is preferred.</li>
<li>Deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), SOLID principles, and design patterns.</li>
</ul></li><li>Exceptional leadership, organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.</li>
<li>Proven ability to set and uphold high standards of technical quality, delivery, and teamwork.</li>
</ul>

We are looking for a passionate engineer skilled in building scalable and responsive web applications and services using Angular and ASP.NET Core. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in implementing robust APIs using event-based software design and adhering to Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles. They should excel in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Do:<ul>
<li>
Perform full-stack development including front end, business logic, and data access layers.</li>
<li>Responsible for the entire development lifecycle from planning to release and support</li>
<li>Actively contribute to software architecture decisions, design strategies, and code reviews to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with development team members and stakeholders</li>
<li>Maintain high standards, attention to detail, accuracy and completeness</li>
</ul>
What We're Looking For:<ul>
<li>
3 or more years of experience developing software in an Agile, team-based environment</li>
<li>1 or more years of experience developing responsive web applications</li>
<li>Expertise with Angular, ASP.NET Core, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, SASS, and HTML</li>

<li>Excellent problem solving and communication skills</li>
