Position Description

Oversee the implementation of Thompson&rsquo;s Inspection and Test Plans (ITP&rsquo;S) per the assigned site. Review materials to ASTM Requirements, which includes measuring of the components to ensure they are within the specification&rsquo;s tolerance. This includes working with employees as well as outside agencies or consultants involved in inspections and testing.

Job Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Generate documentation to provide assurance of compliance to contract requirements, ITP&rsquo;s and Thompson&rsquo;s QA Manual</li>
<li>Ensure all Quality Control records are maintained in an orderly, easily accessible, up to date and secure manner</li>
<li>Ensure policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP&rsquo;s) for Quality Control are being followed for field work and are documented when required</li>
<li>Ensure that materials, workmanship and construction are in full compliance with the contract plans and specifications, and applicable building codes</li>
<li>Generate Non Conformance Report (NCR) for any condition that does not comply with the applicable requirements or specifications</li>
<li>Be knowledgeable of assigned inspection criteria</li>
<li>Require that defective work or material be corrected or removed until made compliant</li>
<li>Approve receipt of materials per ASTM requirements</li>
<li>Accept or reject welds based on assigned written criteria</li>
<li>Perform dimensional checks on materials in question</li>
<li>Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner</li>
<li>Effectively coach Craft in quality program processes</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Job Qualifications
<ul>
<li>5 years of work experience in the construction field</li>
<li>Able to navigate Code books and technical manuals</li>
<li>Proficient at understanding construction drawings</li>
<li>Have a general understanding of various structural bolting methods (turn of the nut, direct tension indicators, impact wrenches, etc.)</li>
<li>Visual Testing (VT)-VT Level lI or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)</li>
<li>Ability to use weld inspection tools</li>
<li>Ability to use coatings inspection tools</li>
<li>Ability to verify materials using Material Test Reports (MTR&rsquo;s)</li>
<li>Familiarity with construction workplace health and safety concepts</li>
<li>Attention to detail and completes documentation in timely manner</li>
<li>Must be at least 18 years of age</li>
<li>Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively.</li>
<li>Work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments</li>
<li>40 or more hours per week with possible weekend work</li>
<li>Background check and drug screen based on job location/requirements</li>
