Overview:</b></div><div>
Responsible for performing all functions necessary within the shipping department to schedule transportation of all outbound and inbound freight, including raw materials, and finished goods. Required to work with the TPG team to produce delivery schedules based on customer needs in contingent with the products produced by our manufacturing facilities.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
 Supervisor responsibilities:</b></div><ul><li>
Hires and trains</li><li>
Supervises clerks within the shipping department.</li><li>
Fabricate and oversee the daily schedules, workflow, and assignments within the shipping department.</li><li>
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.</li><li>
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.</li><li>
Maintain DOT compliance of shipping department.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Essential Functions:</b></div><ul><li>
Maintains knowledge of best practices including the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods.</li><li>
Identify 3rd party haulers for most efficient shipping routes.</li><li>
Maintains knowledge of regulations related to transportation including those related to hazardous shipments, employee safety, and freight classifications.</li><li>
Reviews and analyzes expenditures and other financial information; uses results to develop and implement plans, policies, and budgets.</li><li>
Orders aggregate. Sand, cement, rock.</li><li>
Provide customer service support, as necessary; respond to customer inquiries and problems in a timely manner.</li><li>
Work closely with customers, sales representatives, and operations to coordinate scheduling.</li><li>
Embrace strong work ethics personally and throughout company and client teams.</li><li>
Create dispatch ticket for all outbound loads.</li><li>
Plan shipping forecast and maintain the dispatch board / schedule.</li><li>
Maintain shipping log.</li><li>
Ensure trucking needs are met by scheduling transportation and communicating with various internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>
Confirm scheduled transportation resources, make changes as necessary.</li><li>
Pick and layout load lists ensuring products are shipped efficiently and fully.</li><li>
Print and track bills of lading, reviewing for accuracy.</li><li>
Maintain detailed records of shipping progress, history, and forecasting.</li><li>
Produce shipping notifications and weekly shipping schedule to plant personnel.</li><li>
Cultivate strong relationships with customers and drivers.</li><li>
Monitor route changes and road conditions and collaborate with logistics company to establish or revise delivery routes.</li><li>

Deals effectively with frequent delays, unexpected events and changes in/or approaches/methods to best fit the situation.</li><li>

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.</li><li>
Geographical knowledge of service area or map reading skills</li><li>
Knowledge of industry is recommended but not required.</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in supply chain, logistics or related field, and/or three (3) years of proven work experience as a transportation Supervisor</li><li>
experience and/or training in customer service, dispatching or project management or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Work Environment</b></div><ul><li>
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Physical Demands</b></div><ul><li>
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 40 pounds.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work</b></div><ul><li>
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Scheduled shift hours are subject to change to meet business needs. Will require some on call after hours duties.<br>
