Three Rivers Legal Services Inc. (TRLS) has an immediate opening for a full-time Paralegal II in our Fernandina Beach Office. This is an in-office position. The Paralegal will provide litigation support primarily in the area of family law. A desire to assist low-income clients and underserved populations is essential. TRLS is a nonprofit law firm that provides free legal assistance to low-income clients, the elderly, and underserved populations. TRLS is dedicated to the provision of quality legal assistance and to community empowerment through preventive legal education and outreach.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Interview clients and provide advice under the direct supervision of an Attorney.</li><li>Substantial drafting of legal documents, including, but not limited to pleadings, motions, discovery, orders, wills, and advance directives.</li><li>Draft advice and closing letters under the supervision of an Attorney.</li><li>Conduct legal research and fact investigations.</li><li>Maintain schedules and appointment calendar for meetings, hearings, trials, etc.</li><li>Maintain detailed notes in electronic case management system.</li><li>Manage, organize, and archive documents in case management system.</li><li>Maintain Notary Public license.</li><li>Represent TRLS at meetings, community events, and other outreach.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Paralegal Certification, Associate degree or higher or 3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.</li><li>Paralegal with three years&rsquo; family law experience, preferred.</li><li>Experience with gathering, preparing, and drafting discovery.</li><li>Excellent oral, written, and legal research skills.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to demonstrate sound understanding of legal rules and procedures.</li><li>Strong people skills and ability to relate to clients, attorneys, other professionals, and the community.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G-Suite.</li><li>Demonstrate interest in public interest law and commitment to justice for low-income and underserved populations.</li><li>Access to a vehicle during working hours.</li></ul>Salary and Benefits. Salary range is $24 -$30 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits package includes:<ul><li>Paid time off including 20 vacation days, 12 sick days, 12 office holidays, and 3 personal holidays.</li><li>Health insurance, FSA Health and Dependent Care, short term disability, and employee assistance plan.</li><li>Employer paid $50,000 life insurance policy with an option for employees to purchase additional coverage.</li><li>403(b) retirement plan with 5% employer contribution after 2 years of service.</li><li>Voluntary options of vision, dental, long-term disability, and wellness discount plan.</li><li>Minimum 35-hour work week.
