Accounting Specialist &ndash; Construction (AP/AR)Location: Fort Myers, FLJob Type: Full-Time Pay: salary commensurate with experienceJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist with a strong background in construction accounting, specifically Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and understands job costing, subcontractor invoices, and construction billing workflows. Buildertrend experience is a plus.This role supports daily accounting operations and works closely with project managers, vendors, and ownership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable<ul><li>Enter and code vendor and subcontractor invoices by job and cost code&bull; Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and approvals&bull; Track subcontractor insurance, W-9s, and compliance documentation&bull; Request and track lien releases prior to payment&bull; Prepare AP aging reports and payment batches&bull; Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal teams</li></ul>Accounts Receivable<ul><li>Prepare and issue customer invoices in QuickBooks Online and/or Buildertrend&bull; Ensure billing aligns with contracts, change orders, and job progress&bull; Apply customer payments accurately and timely&bull; Monitor AR aging and follow up on past-due balances&bull; Maintain organized billing and payment records</li></ul>General Accounting<ul><li>Support accurate job costing and cost code reporting&bull; Perform bank and account reconciliations&bull; Assist with month-end close and reporting&bull; Maintain organized digital accounting files</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>2+ years of construction accounting experience&bull; Strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable knowledge&bull; QuickBooks Online experience a plus&bull; Understanding of job costing and construction workflows&bull; High attention to detail and strong organizational skills&bull; Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Buildertrend experience&bull; Familiarity with lien releases and retainage&bull; Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Competitive pay based on experience&bull; Stable, long-term position&bull; Supportive team environment&bull; Growth opportunities&bull; Health / Dental / Vision</li></ul>Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hourExpected hours: 40.0 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
