General Role Description
Complete the identified Engineering Excellence Program (EEP) curriculum during the 24-month program period, including successive work rotations in a variety of the Company&rsquo;s business units and/or client projects of approximately 4-6 months each, and an 8-week classroom-based New Engineer Development Program (NEDP).
At the conclusion of the EEP, the program graduate will be assigned to a role within the Company through an interactive process that considers the graduate&rsquo;s knowledge, skills, and interests, and the needs of the business.
Role Accountabilities
Specific accountabilities for rotations are dependent on role assignment and will include, but not be limited to:
Application Engineer<ul><li>Prepare technical specifications for electrical and electro-mechanical power conversion equipment that meets applicable global and local standards, as assigned
</li><li>Prepare technical specifications for sensors and automation equipment suppliers as assigned
</li><li>Conduct power system studies to ensure that the existing or proposed system is adequate to meet requirements of new equipment while meeting applicable global and local utility standards, as assigned
</li><li>Evaluate supplier proposals to determine the best technical and most cost-effective solution for the application
</li><li>Ensure &ldquo;as shipped&rdquo; systems meet all client requirements as defined in the project contract, including system specifications and performance guarantees, while achieving business goals and objectives</li><li>Manage equipment costs, recommending cost reductions when feasible</li></ul>
Control Engineer - Industrial Systems<ul><li>Gather pertinent information from authorized sources to assess project requirements as related to assigned scope of work</li><li>Support technical project review meetings with clients as required</li><li>Design industrial controller and/or computer-based software modules to meet control functionality and work progress targets at prescribed engineering checkpoints</li><li>Design Human Machine Interface (HMI) software to meet control functionality and work progress targets at prescribed engineering checkpoints</li><li>Provide regular, accurate, and considered status reports to parties deemed appropriate to the situation</li></ul>
Control Engineer - Energy &amp; Infrastructure Solutions<ul><li>Interpret client specifications and apply industry codes and standards to all products supplied to meet project requirements
</li><li>Create equipment specifications, bills of materials, and drawings, utilizing Company approved tools, that accurately reflect each project&rsquo;s equipment and product needs to ensure a design that meets project requirements and quality standards</li><li>Prepare purchase specification and ERP requisition in a timely manner to achieve the project schedule
</li><li>Track all revisions to the specifications and drawings, complying with established change control procedures
</li><li>Edit project drawings to reflect preliminary, manufacturing, as shipped, and final &ldquo;As-Installed&rdquo; configurations</li></ul>
Development Engineer<ul><li>Identify new technologies that have the potential to address the present, but unfilled, needs of our clients, or that create demand as a direct result of significant performance improvements that will provide a level of direct benefit to our clients sufficient to differentiate the Company from our competitors
</li><li>Evaluate the feasibility, cost, and benefits of incorporating new technologies in the Company&rsquo;s systems and products
</li><li>Incorporate selected technologies into the Company&rsquo;s power products in cooperation with Company, parent company, and third-party development teams
</li><li>Define modifications to existing tools, and features of new tools, that are necessary to engineer and commission products that incorporate selected technologies
</li></ul>Field Engineer<ul><li>Commission AC and DC drive systems and/or control software or DC to AC inverter/skid and control software to meet design performance criteria</li><li>Perform tune up of AC and DC drive systems closed loop regulators or solar PV inverter products to ensure optimal equipment performance and meet design parameters</li><li>Troubleshoot and correct performance problems in complex control systems</li><li>Design, configure, and test system software and hardware to meet contractual requirements of assigned scope</li><li>Gather pertinent information from authorized sources to assess project requirements as related to assigned scope of work</li><li>Provide regular, accurate, and considered commissioning status reports to parties deemed appropriate to the situation</li></ul>
Sales Application Engineer<ul><li>Prepare technical specifications of drive and automation systems to meet clients&rsquo; Request for Quote (RFQ) requirements and to effectively communicate these requirements to the clients and internal engineering team</li><li>Define solutions that include hardware and software requirements for a project, in collaboration with clients and original equipment manufacturers (OEM&rsquo;s)</li><li>Prepare detailed cost elements for the technical specification</li><li>Identify enhanced product or service feature needs by soliciting feedback from clients</li><li>Design competitive and viable technical approaches to resolve client issues</li></ul>

Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, computer science, software engineering or mathematics</li><li>Classes, labs, and projects with concentration in some combination of electrical power systems, control system theory, supervisory software development, data base design/management, software engineering, robotics, or mechatronics</li><li>Personal computer hardware and software skill proficiency</li><li>Demonstrated problem solving skills</li><li>Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts, in all employment and/or educational settings</li><li>Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility, in all employment and/or educational settings</li><li>Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook</li><li>Availability to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes with limited notice, and with duration dependent on job assignment</li></ul>
