<div>Position Overview 
The School-Based Behavioral Health Liaison (SBBHL) plays a vital role in promoting mental health and wellness among students. The SBBHL supports schools in implementing trauma-informed practices and behavioral health interventions for students at risk of developing emotional, behavioral, or substance use disorders, this includes individual and group counseling, teacher consultation, and fostering strong partnerships between schools, families, and the community. The SBBHL is embedded within school settings to deliver mental health services and provide psycho-educational to enhance the overall learning environment.

Key Responsibilities: 

Direct Services:
<ul><li> Provide individual, family, and group counseling to students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges</li></ul>
<ul><li> Conduct mental health assessments, screenings, and evaluations</li></ul>
<ul><li> Facilitate psychoeducational groups on topics such as coping strategies, stress management, and mental health awareness</li></ul>
<ul><li> Offer crisis intervention services and referrals for additional supports as needed</li></ul> 

Support for Teachers and School Staff:
<ul><li> Consult with teachers to create trauma informed, positive classroom environments</li></ul>
<ul><li> Deliver training and education on mental health issues, trauma informed practices, substance abuse prevention and de-escalation strategies</li></ul>
<ul><li> Assist in the development of school wide mental health initiatives and universal prevention strategies</li></ul>

Liaison Services: 


 a Act as a liaison between schools, families, and community agencies to ensure coordinated care for students
<ul><li> Facilitate communication between teachers and families to support students&rsquo; behavioral and mental health needs</li></ul> 

<ul><li> Participate in school meetings (e g, IEP or 504 planning) to advocate for students' mental health services</li></ul> 


 Documentation and Compliance
<ul><li> Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and reports. to comply with grant and organizational requirements</li></ul>
<ul><li> Monitor service outcomes and ensure alignment with state regulations and program standards</li></ul> 

Collaboration and Consultation.
<ul><li> Work with school personnel and community providers to complete needs assessments and resource mapping</li></ul>
<ul><li> Participate in school wide trauma informed initiatives and other mental health related programs</li></ul> 


Qualifications: 
Education Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field Licensure or eligibility for licensure preferred (LCSW LPC etc. )

Experience Minimum two years of experience working with children and adolescents in a behavioral health setting, preferably in a school environment

Skills Proficiency in trauma informed practices, ability to provide strength based and client centered care, strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to build positive relationships with school staff students, and families</div>
