Torch Technologies is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Modeling &amp; Simulation Software Engineer to join the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Simulation (IAMDSIM) software development team. This role involves the design, development, and integration of various real-time and digital simulation models into a larger distributed system of systems simulation. The IAMDSIM software development team works on software for the full lifecycle of the simulation, including pre-processing scripts, integration of tactical and development of supporting simulation models, and development of post-processing data analysis libraries.
As a Mid-Level Modeling &amp; Simulation Software Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
<ul><li>Design, implement, test, and maintain software simulation models in C++, Java.
</li><li>Integrate third-party simulation models into a common simulation environment.
</li><li>Development of various pre and post processing tools to better work with and analyze the
</li><li>Support analysis post processing library development in Python.
</li></ul>Job Requirements:
<ul><li>U.S. Citizenship.
</li><li>B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
</li><li>5 years applicable software design engineering experience.
</li><li>Active Secret Clearance.
</li><li>Proficiency in C++, Java, and Python.
</li><li>Experience using version control systems (Git, Gitlab).
</li><li>Strong understanding of software development principles, algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented principles (OOP) and design patterns.
</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and as an individual.
</li></ul>Preferred Qualification:
<ul><li>5 or more years of experience is preferred.
</li><li>Experience developing or integrating digital and real-time simulation models into larger system of system simulations.
</li><li>Experience developing service-oriented applications using the OSGi framework.
</li><li>Experience with reading, manipulating, and updating various build and meta-build systems including Make, Autoconf, CMake, Meson, Apache Maven, and Apache Ant.
</li><li>Basic understanding of kinematics.
</li><li>Expertise developing all-digital and real-time simulations.
</li><li>Experience with containerization software (docker, docker-compose, podman)
</li><li>Familiarity with Python data science and plotting libraries (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, plotly, bokeh).
</li></ul>Schedule: M-F; 8-5
