Today Torn &amp; Glasser is an importer, processor, and packer of nuts, dried fruits, beans, rice, spices, candies, and grains.Torn &amp; Glasser located in Pomona, California is looking to hire a qualified 2nd Shift Production Supervisor. Qualified candidates must be able to work flexible schedule Monday through Friday with some weekends from 2:00pm - 11:00pm (schedule will vary based on production).Production Supervisors are responsible for the efficient manufacturing of manufacturing production teams. This role will be in charge of operations/change overs of specified machinery, safety, efficiency, and product quality.Essential Duties and Responsibilities&middot; Assess and train employees on full-cycle production processes, including roasting, blending, canning, fulfillment, labeling, weighing and manifesting of production work orders research and testing.&middot; Inspects, analyzes and recommends ways of improving quality and efficiency in production activities.&middot; Demonstrates a high degree of ownership for product quality: Performs all standard quality checks &amp; other quality related duties.&middot; Ensures highest quality of handling, processing and storage of raw materials.&middot; Oversees highest standard of allergens/cross-contamination protocols.&middot; Develops a schedule and priorities for production of goods, including resource requirements based on production volume.&middot; Investigates and help determine root cause of complaints, providing process improvement as necessary to prevent repeat occurrence.&middot; Assess equipment operating reliability and perform routine repairs, adjustments and malfunction troubleshooting; coordinate with Production Manager.- Coach, mentor and develop Production Department Staff to meet production and quality goals and standards, while striving to reduce turnover.- Ensures compliance to GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense and Food Quality regulatins as required by the Compnay, Customers, and/or government legislations, including timely communications to appropriate facility management of any non-confrmity issues or violatiosn found.- Ensures enforcement of all job safety requirements.Skills and Qualifications:&middot; Associates Degree or equivalent experience.&middot; Production management is required; 3-5 years experience in a supervisory position preferred.&middot; Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing with vendors, customers and co-workers; Fluency in verbal and written Spanish preferred.&middot; Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.&middot; Knowledge of time systems, inventory systems, WMS.&middot; Solid problem solving and decision making skills.&middot; Willingness to work holidays and weekends as we are a 24/7 business operating through most weekends and holidays.- Working knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations, HACCP Food Safety, GMP's, SSOP's and Allergens.&middot; Successful completion of a post offer physical, drug screen and background check is required.Benefits:You may also be eligible to take advantage of a comprehensive benefits plan which includes:&middot; Medical&middot; Dental&middot; Vision&middot; Life insurance&middot; 401(k)&middot; 9 Paid holidays&middot; Vacation&middot; Sick timeIt is the policy of Torn &amp; Glasser not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, genetic information, disability or because he or she is a protected veteran.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $70,305.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
