<div>Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to drive end-to-end solution delivery for major retail platforms.

In this role, you will own hands-on implementation (feature development, technical design, code reviews), engagement leadership (client-facing technical lead, trade-off decisions, mentoring), and operational ownership (delivery sign-off, post-release support) of high-impact solutions, translating business requirements into working software you help build. You will drive Dual-Track Agile processes, contributing to the Discovery Track through rapid prototyping and feasibility validation, and leading the Delivery Track to ensure quality, traceability, and measurable outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a senior software engineer who codes daily, prototypes proactively, and integrates AI/agent workflows across the software lifecycle&mdash;from analysis and design to testing, documentation, and code generation&mdash;while bringing the technical leadership to drive client engagements forward. You will mentor teams, make critical technical trade-offs, and take full accountability for delivery sign-off and post-release support.

This role requires strong retail platform domain knowledge (POS systems, store operations), cloud-native development experience, and fluency with generative and agentic AI tools to accelerate delivery while preserving code quality and architectural integrity. You will be a key driver of engineering excellence, ensuring solutions are both innovative and operationally robust. 


Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Instrument and leverage AI/agentic workflows in your daily development to accelerate design, prototyping, code generation, test-case creation, specification drafting, and automated validation across the software lifecycle.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Apply AI-assisted development practices in your own work, model best practices for the team, and ensure ethical compliance and responsible integration of generative AI tools.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Own end-to-end solution delivery across Discovery and Delivery Tracks, personally building validated prototypes, contributing to formal designs, decomposing work into deliverables, and shipping accepted technical implementations.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Drive the Discovery Track under Dual-Track Agile by writing working prototypes and demoing solutions to validate feasibility and align stakeholders before full implementation.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Translate discovery outcomes into delivery backlog items and partner with implementation teams to ensure design intent, code quality standards, and non-functional requirements are preserved throughout delivery.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Contribute to technical design across products and integrations: produce ADRs, interface contracts, data models, sequencing diagrams, migration/rollback plans, and traceability matrices, partnering with architects on broader governance.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Serve as the primary technical lead in client engagements: facilitate workshops, present technical solutions, make trade-off decisions, drive approvals, and act as a subject-matter expert for assigned platform areas.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Personally implement critical components and complex features in modern retail platform stacks, set the bar for code quality through your own work, and review and approve deliverables from implementation teams.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Apply and reinforce engineering standards, reusable integration patterns, and non-functional requirements (security, scalability, observability) across client solutions.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Mentor and upskill engineers on AI-assisted development, Dual-Track workflows, specification-driven design, and platform best practices, primarily through pair programming, code reviews, and example-driven leadership.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Contribute to platform and product strategy, identifying reusable assets, API-first designs, and technical gaps requiring investment.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Own risk analysis and mitigation for technical decisions, including backward compatibility, data integrity, and compliance constraints.</li></ul> 


Must-Have Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Applying and utilizing AI-assisted tools and workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) for design, coding, test generation, and documentation.</li>
</ul><ul><li>8+ years of professional software development experience with current, daily hands-on coding and prototyping in modern technology stacks.</li>
</ul><ul><li>5+ years building cloud-native, microservices, or event-driven systems, with experience in Azure or equivalent cloud platforms.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Strong proficiency in technology stacks such as Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript, React/Vue.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Proven experience owning end-to-end solution delivery, including design, implementation, and post-release operational accountability for medium-to-large projects.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Track record of building production code, prototypes, and reference implementations to validate solution feasibility.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Strong experience with REST/OpenAPI, messaging platforms, and relational/non-relational databases (SQL/NoSQL).</li>
</ul><ul><li>Hands-on proficiency with CI/CD, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, deployment tooling, automated testing, and AI/agentic workflows to accelerate the software lifecycle.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Practical experience with generative AI and AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) with measurable impact on delivery.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Excellent stakeholder communication skills, able to facilitate workshops, present technical solutions, and collaborate across business and engineering teams.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Proven leadership in mentoring engineers, conducting thorough code reviews, and championing engineering best practices across teams.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Strong retail platform domain knowledge (POS systems, store operations) is highly desirable.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Certifications such as Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud credentials.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Strong understanding of advanced security best practices and compliance requirements in enterprise systems.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Experience leading Dual-Track Agile processes, managing both Discovery and Delivery Tracks, and translating discovery outcomes into actionable backlog items.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Experience contributing to platform strategy, reusable assets, and API-first designs.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Expertise in formal or machine-readable specifications (OpenAPI, UML+OCL, TLA+, or equivalent) to guide implementation and enable automated validation.</li>

Compensation:

<li>Base Salary Range: $140,000-$165,000</li>

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining retail store technologies, computer systems and peripherals, within retail store and commercial business environments. They are responsible to perform a full workload of product installation, support services and repair on Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions and non-TOSHIBA retail products and in the store systems, retail banking and SMB marketplaces (i.e., apparel stores, supermarkets, mass merchandising, specialty shops, banks, local insurance agents, CPAs, legal firms, etc.). The Associate Field Service Technician is accountable for customer satisfaction, metrics attainment and operational activities as required for the services provided. The services include some or all the following: whole product and/or component exchange and on-premises basic product &amp; store equipment problem diagnosis, adjustment and/or repair. The Associate Field Service Technician may also perform equipment refurbishment, installation, relocation, discontinuance, product level engineering and configuration changes, upgrades and/or modifications, to products using well established documentation and procedures. Candidate will work under supervision until trained and capable of working in an unsupervised fashion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Operates in assigned territory and performs basic repairs and services on products, including problem determination utilizing well established, standard maintenance packages, diagnostics, reference documentation, system tools and service aids in identifying routine problems. Is also capable of performing a basic level of diagnostics and repair but may require occasional assistance from more experienced SRs to carry out difficult product repair activities. Uses established procedures and/or instructions for repetitive and/or routine work, works on tasks individually or as a part of a team.</li>
<li>May travel within assigned territory or nationally to customer locations to perform installations, relocation, discontinuance, product level engineering and configuration changes, upgrades and/or modifications to retail POS equipment.</li>
<li>Effectively communicates with customers, management, peers, and team members on a timely basis regarding status of work, potential problems, customer/store management satisfaction, and to seek advice and assistance. Builds positive customer relationships with product end-user and customer project and/or store management.</li>
<li>Effectively manages the situation and completes the service event in a high quality and timely manner to meet customer commitments and minimize disruptions to the customer's operation</li>
<li>With assistance, plans, prioritizes, and schedules work to meet or exceed customer Service Level objectives. Arrange all travel plans in a timely cost-effective manner using company approved business tools and ability to respond to schedule changes with minimal notice. Flexibility to work varying shifts including overtime and weekends as necessary.</li>
<li>Ensure installation activities are accurately documented in accordance with TOSHIBA standards and practices using automated systems and/or established reports. This includes but is not limited to air travel, call, mileage, timecards, and expense reports.</li>
<li>Effectively maintain and manage trunk stock to support all customers.</li>
<li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>

AREAS OF EXPERTISE &amp; SPECIAL SKILLS:

<li>High School Diploma with 2+ years' experience in an Electronics field</li>
<li>Must be able to travel 100% of the time, domestic and/or air travel, may be assigned to a specific local territory, but air travel may be necessary for installations or other service delivery projects outside assigned geography</li>
<li>Possesses basic knowledge of personal computer technology, network infrastructure, flat panel TVs &amp; monitors, cash registers / point-of-sale equipment, and associated retail devices to include scanners, handheld devices, kiosks, printers &amp; other related and similar retail, and SMB product technologies</li>
<li>The position requires a mechanical aptitude with competency in electricity &amp; electronics, and the ability to properly use test equipment, basic hand tools, electronic testing equipment and electric meters</li>
<li>Must possess the ability to follow written or spoken directions and to provide information in a clear and concise manner</li>
<li>Good Customer Service skills are essential. Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments and work independently</li>
<li>Must have good written and oral communication skills including tact and diplomacy when facing customers</li>
<li>The individual must be able to recognize and understand the functional and operational use of IT signal and power cables as well as low voltage wiring systems and to perform diagnosis and repair thereof</li>
