<div><p>The Cary Arts Center is seeking an organized and enthusiastic Program Assistant II to support arts programming in our community. The Program Assistant II will serve as the lead buyer and organizer for classrooms, art supplies, special tools, and equipment. This role will work closely with art instructors to learn about program needs and will assist with management of the visual art supply budget.<br>

Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Visual Arts Education Specialist.<br>
<br>
<b>This is a part-time, non-benefited, year-round position, up to 20 hours a week, with a maximum of 999 hours per year.</b></p></div>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Acts as the lead buyer for the Arts Education Program by taking ownership of ordering, receiving, and maintaining inventory and stock levels for supplies</li><li>
Coordinates with art instructors to order and distribute materials in a timely fashion</li><li>
Tracks supply needs according to class and camp schedules</li><li>
Organizes and maintains a cleanly appearance of classrooms and supplies to create an environment ready for the public to enjoy</li><li>
Maintains a system for tracking purchases, managing the art supply budget, and entering receipts</li><li>
Creates posters and 3D materials for Arts Education initiatives</li><li>
Communicates by phone and email with supervisor, Cary Arts Center staff, and instructors to ensure that all program needs are met</li><li>
Purchases supplies from retail outlets both in-person and online as needed and as per the amount allotted</li><li>
Performs other job-related tasks as required to support a successful arts education program.</li></ul></div><p></p>

Physical Requirements</b><br>
Work in this class requires an employee to be able to hear and talk in order to communicate with public. An employee must be able to walk unassisted and move about freely. Requires the ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 25 lbs.) such as chairs, 6-foot tables, rolling bleachers, and event supplies. Visual acuity is needed in order to read typewritten and handwritten materials and to view a computer terminal. Part of the work is clerical in nature and may require sitting and use of a computer for extended periods of time.<br>

<div>The equipment operator position is responsible for performing routine work in the operation of a right-hand side-drive fully automated collection truck in the collection of residential refuse and/or recyclable materials. Work is performed on a four-day work week schedule, which is typically Monday through Thursday, for 10 hours a day under the regular supervision of a Solid Waste Operations Coordinator. Solid Waste Management positions are &quot;critical positions&quot;, meaning you are required to report to work during adverse weather or other emergency situations to maintain equipment and/or assist the Solid Waste Management Division in any capacity necessary to continue Town operations.</div></div></div><br>

<div><p>Drives a specialized dual drive, fully automated truck (right hand side drive) on residential routes and collects refuse and/or recyclable materials in sanitation carts at curbside;<br>

Dumps carts into a truck hopper by operating a joy stick, which controls a mechanical arm;<br>
<br>
Exercises care and caution to make sure mechanical arm on the truck is in and truck is clear of traffic and people before proceeding;<br>
<br>
Operates the packer to pack and dump refuse or recyclable materials;<br>
<br>
Exits truck to pick up &quot;red flag&quot; pick-ups for disabled customers;<br>
<br>
Drives assigned routes and collects approximately 1,000 homes per day as a one-person crew;<br>
<br>
Drives the truck to designated disposal facility and dumps load before returning to the route;<br>
<br>
Performs pre and post trip inspections of truck;<br>
<br>
Completes daily log sheet of activities;<br>
<br>
Performs cleaning and general maintenance of the truck;<br>
<br>
Answers questions from citizens regarding department procedures;<br>
<br>

Work in this class is moderate work but may require periodic moderate to heavy lifting while picking up and carrying items. Although work is performed primarily inside the cab of the vehicle, work may require exposure to various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and unpleasant surroundings. An employee must have the physical agility to get in and out of the truck and the dexterity to operate the joystick. The ability to see is necessary to operate controls and the vehicle. An employee must also be able to hear in order to listen to the operation of the truck. An employee must be able to ride 8 to 10 hours in truck.</div></div></div><p></p>

Plans, Designs, and creates detailed 3D digital models and full plan sets for complete streets, public utilities, municipal facilities, stormwater systems, and related infrastructure projects.</li><li>
Assists with civil engineering planning and design tasks, including estimating, scheduling, material calculations, and bid-related computations.</li><li>
Analyzes survey data, aerial imagery, and engineering drawings to support project design, documentation, and decision-making.</li><li>
Collaborates with engineers, managers, consultants, contractors, and field staff on public infrastructure and GIS data development.</li><li>
Maintains GIS data integrity through quality control, schema development, workflow support, and processing field changes.</li><li>
Provides GIS support across departments, including data exports, research requests, training, troubleshooting, and customer service.</li><li>
Assesses Transportation GIS assets to determine deficiencies and propose enhancements to data quality or workflow processes.</li><li>
