<div><p><b>Camp Specialist - Nature and Outdoor Education</b></p><p>
The Nature and Outdoor Education Specialist role at Camp Three Rivers is a multi-faceted, fast paced position. All candidates must love and embrace not only the camp environment but also the camp philosophy, which is that our campers come first, we work as a team, and campers are here to have fun! The Nature and Outdoor Education Specialist will develop and implement all activity plans in the areas of Outdoor Education, Science, and Nature and assure that all activities are skill and age appropriate for camp groups. Many of our campers attend camp for multiple weeks each summer; the Nature and Outdoor Education Specialist should be prepared to create new and interesting activity plans for all 8 weeks without much repetition.</p><p><b>
Pay range: $15.75 - $24.25/hour</b>; starting pay based on qualifications. This is an hourly, part-time position, consisting of up to 37.5 hours per week.</p><p>

Under the supervision of the Camp Director, the Camp Specialist will develop and prepare activities are skill and age appropriate for all camp groups.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</b></p><p><i>

 Actively work with campers grades K-6 with and without disabilities, in an outdoor day camp setting.</li><li> Develop lesson plans for all weeks of camp. The Nature and Outdoor Education Specialist will run 3-6 program sessions a day and is expected to have lesson plans that are appropriate for each age group, each day.</li><li> Create, analyze and implement outdoor/nature-specific activities that are engaging and make use of the entire 30-45 minute time block allotted per group.</li><li> Explore multiple outdoor education/nature themes over the course of the summer including: science projects, nature exploration, team building exercises, plant and animal lessons, local nature walks, etc. Most instruction will be at a beginner level and use basic supplies and equipment.</li><li> Vary activities throughout the summer based on camper interest.</li><li> Act as part of the Leadership Team at camp: enthusiastically participate in all camp activities, themed dress up days, field trips etc. Set a mature and responsible example for the camp staff.</li><li> Inventory equipment prior to the start of summer camp.</li><li> Oversee the maintenance of the Nature/Outdoor Ed equipment over the course of the summer keeping the storage space tidy at all times.</li><li> Interact with and work as a team player with other staff, participants, and participant&rsquo;s families/caregivers.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE &amp; SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS</b></p><p><br>
<b>Education and Experience
</b></p><ul><li> Currently enrolled in a high school arts program or pursuing a degree in art or a similar field, preferred.</li><li> Prior experience working at a summer camp, preferred.</li><li> Experience teaching or running art programs, preferred.</li></ul><br>

<p><b>Special Requirements
</b></p><ul><li> Must be 16 years of age or older (work permit needed if under 18).</li><li> CPR and first aid certified (certification available during staff training).</li><li> Available to work for the entire summer and be available for staff training, preferred.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>

Work is performed primarily outdoors during the summer months. May be subjected to moderate variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc. Work may be performed indoors in a relatively noisy work environment, with constant interruptions. Frequently subjected to the demands of other individuals and the volume and /or rapidity with which tasks must be accomplished.</p><p><br>
</p><p>Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Balancing, crouching, grasping, pulling, reaching, and stooping may also be required.</p><p></p><p><b><i><br>
