<div><p>The Public Works Department for the Town of Garner is seeking a Property Maintenance Worker to work as part of a team performing various manual and semi-skilled tasks in the care and maintenance of Town parks, athletic fields, landscaped areas and other Town facilities.</p><p><b>
Examples of Duties:</b></p><div><ul><li>
Assisting with parks grounds and facilities maintenance work; operating equipment; mowing grass; trimming; trash removal; prune landscaping; preparing sport fields for play; special event setup/takedown.</li><li>
Performs a variety of maintenance tasks such as cutting lawns, using power hand equipment, repairs fences and gates; removes leaves and debris from facilities.</li><li>
Performs general maintenance tasks on public recreational complexes, restrooms, playground equipment, tennis courts, and sport fields.</li><li>
Operates all equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks such as non-CDL dump trucks, tractors, hand tools and mowing machines.</li><li>
Prepares and responds to all storm related incidents including snow/ice removal.</li><li>
Performs related tasks as required.</li></ul></div><p><b>
Minimum Qualifications:</b></p><p>
Applicants must have:</p><div><ul><li>
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>
A valid driver's license and good driving record.</li><li>
Be knowledgeable in the safe use and operation of hand tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance.</li><li>
Be able to perform manual labor for extended periods in all weather conditions.</li><li>
Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.</li></ul></div><p><b>
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:</b></p><p>
Environment: Work is performed primarily in an outdoor field environment; travel from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; work in or around water; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain; work at heights, in confined spaces, and below ground level; incumbents may be required to respond to emergency and public calls after hours including evenings and weekends.</p><p>
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to climb unusual heights and descend on ladders; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.</p><p>
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.</p><p>
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.</p><p><b>
Additional Information:</b></p><div><ul><li>
Participation in emergency response activities and support of Town special events is expected.</li><li>
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.</li><li>

The salary range shown is the hiring range. The starting salary will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills and qualifications.</li></ul></div><p><b>
