</p></div><div><p>We are looking for a Senior Planner that will perform technical and professional work in zoning and land use administration. In accordance with the provisions of Town Codes and Ordinances and guidance by the Community Development Director, determine appropriate action in zoning and land use related matters. Although this position receives general direction from the Community Development Director, she/he is expected to exercise independent judgment in the application of her/his required skills</p>

<div><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Some of the day-to-day duties are listed below:</b></h4>
<ul><li>Reviews major development proposals, in coordination with the Community Development Director, and based on sound planning principles, policies, standards and technical criteria contained in the Municipal Code and Comprehensive Plan, makes recommendations for approval, conditional approval, or denial to the Planning Commission and Town Council.</li>
<li>Reviews minor development proposals.</li>
<li>Oversees the review or reviews and analyzes data for zoning applications, including variance for the regulations of the Municipal Code where permitted, exemptions from the provisions of the subdivision regulations, comprehensive sign plans, temporary use permits, and special review uses.</li>
<li>Oversees the review or reviews major development plans submitted for a building permit to determine whether the project is in conformance with the floor area and height regulations, applicable ordinances or resolutions, and other general zoning regulations defined in the Town Municipal Code.</li>
<li>Approves zoning compliance on building permit applications at the discretion of the Community Development Director.</li>
<li>Formulates necessary recommendations on proposals when a land use application is considered by the Planning Commission and/or Town Council, or deals with the application on an administrative basis when permitted by the Municipal Code and designated by the Community Development Director.</li>
<li>Analyzes codes and suggests and prepares proposals to improve, clarify, and/or simplify codes in coordination with the Community Development Director,</li>
<li>Provides staff assistance to the Planning Commission, advises the Commission on zoning and related planning matters, and is responsible for presentations to the Commission;</li>
<li>Prepares resolutions and ordinances for approval by the Community Development Director and Town Attorney regarding zoning related matters to be presented to the Town Council or Planning Commission.</li>
<li>Makes recommendations to the Community Development Director on updates to the comprehensive plan for municipal development involving elements of the long-range planning program and tools for implementation.</li>
<li>Advises and provides guidance to developers, engineers, site planners, architects and others on general planning matters and the zoning regulations of the Town.</li>

<div><ul><li>Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors Degree in Planning or Urban Design, or any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelors Degree in city planning or closely related field, and experience in all phases of city planning and some technical experience in zoning administration.</li>
<li>Master's Degree preferred.</li>

<li>General knowledge of civil engineering, building code and/or landscape architecture desirable.</li>
<li>Knowledge of the principles of graphic presentation.</li>

We are looking for a professional Parks Supervisor who under the general supervision of the Parks and Trails Manager, will perform as a supervisor, crew lead and project coordinator to assist the Parks and Trails Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Town's parks.</div><br>

Some of the day-to-day duties are listed below:</b></div><br>

<li>Assesses Park conditions; prioritizes, plans, and performs maintenance and repairs of all town-managed areas.</li>
<li>Oversees and responds to irrigation issues and provides improved efficiency and cost savings recommendations.</li>
<li>Supervises the maintenance and repairs of parks, including an annual cycle of turf and horticulture management, signage maintenance, and facility repairs.</li>
<li>Supervises and coordinates the activities of all assigned park staff. Coordinates with the POST Manager to lead volunteer park maintenance efforts.</li>
<li>Assists in the organization and inventory of TOSV managed parks.</li>
<li>Operates and maintains tools and equipment, including hand tools, small power tools, mowers, trimmers and chainsaws, tractors, implements, and any other equipment and materials associated with park maintenance.</li>
<li>Confirms all seasonal recreation facilities are properly maintained, cleaned, shut down, and changed over for seasonal closures.</li>
<li>Coordinates with independent contractors and vendors, establishing, maintaining, and enforcing contracts as necessary.</li>
<li>Works closely with Recreation staff and other Town departments to schedule maintenance and coordinate successful activities and Town events.</li>
<li>Troubleshoots and maintains irrigation, adjusts heads, conducts system startups, weekly reports, winterizations, monitors and tests new installations, and plans/executes upgrades.</li>
<li>Oversees and inspects the maintenance of irrigation points of connection, flow meters, and flow reading devices.</li>
<li>Independently schedules, organizes, and performs the full range of turf, shrub, irrigation and plant maintenance: completing turf/irrigation repairs, planting, water, aerate, fertilize application, and oversee turf grass area weed control contractors.</li>
<li>Supervises, orders, and maintains all turf and ornamental garden needs. Maintains detailed inventory of equipment and supplies for all turf, gardens, irrigation, and ice rink needs. Purchases materials, supplies and services, including working with vendors to ensure proper delivery and quality.</li>
<li>Incumbent will supervise parks &amp; trails staff on day-to-day projects. This will include prioritizing projects and defining expectations with input from the POST Manager.</li>

<li> <p>Possess advanced knowledge of turf and ornamental garden care, landscaping, irrigation systems, proper use of chemicals and their applications, ice maintenance and the proven ability to analyze and recommend improvements for maintenance to increase efficiencies.</p>
</li>
<li><p>A combination of three to five years of supervisory experience and safe and skillful operating practices and mechanical characteristics of a full range of grounds maintenance equipment to skillfully operate and perform routine turf, landscape, irrigation maintenance, and seasonal winter park and trail maintenance.</p>
</li>
<li><p>State of Colorado certification for restricted use of pesticides is preferred.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Possession of a valid driver's license.</p>
</li>
<li><p>A combination of three to five years of large-scale irrigation experience, including system start-ups and blow outs, problem identification and repairs, and monitoring existing irrigation.</p></li></ul><br>

Special projects the director may directly be responsible for, but not limited to include: updating comprehensive plans, assisting the Housing Director with the housing policy, researching code changes at the direction of the Town Manager and Town Council, assisting with the development of an environmental policy as it relates to the development process, and other long-range planning projects.</li>
<li>Processes and facilitates complex land use applications through the development review process.</li>
<li>Develops and works with the Town's GIS division to maintain the zoning map of the Town of Snowmass Village</li>
<li>Reviews and improves the development review process, including monthly billings and fee structure.</li>
<li>Manages revenue from permits and applications to help offset operating costs.</li>
<li>Functions as an integral member of the Town's executive management team in formulating budgets, annual operating plans, and meeting the Towns strategic objectives.</li>
<li>Provides direction to Community Development staff.</li>
<li>Works with and provides support to the Town Council, Planning Commission, contractors, architects and all others impacted by the land use and building permit review process. This includes participating in public meetings in both the day and night.</li>
