About the Position

The Premier College Admissions Counselor is responsible for delivering high-touch, expert college admissions advising to students and families, particularly those applying to highly selective institutions. This role plays a critical part in supporting The Princeton Review's college admissions business by guiding students through every stage of the admissions journey&mdash;from early planning through application submission.

In addition to direct counseling, this individual contributes to broader organizational impact through training, content creation, and thought leadership, helping to elevate best practices and ensure a consistent, high-quality experience across the College Admissions Counseling (CAC) team.

What You'll Do

Strategy &amp; Execution
<ul>
<li>Guide students and families through all aspects of the college admissions process, including academic planning, extracurricular strategy, school selection, and application development</li>
<li>Manage a caseload of 20&ndash;50 students per admissions cycle, ensuring strong outcomes and high client satisfaction 
Support onboarding, program management, and deadline tracking for assigned students and families</li>
</ul>
Team Collaboration &amp; Thought Leadership
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with CAC team members to ensure alignment and student success across programs</li>
<li>Serve as a subject matter expert, contributing to admissions strategy, best practices, and counselor training standards</li>
<li>Deliver training and professional development sessions for internal teams</li>
</ul>
Content, Marketing &amp; Client Engagement
<ul>
<li>Meet with prospective families via video or phone to consult on program offerings and fit</li>
<li>Create content (blogs, articles, webinars, videos) to support student success and brand awareness</li>
<li>Participate in webinars, social media events, and other marketing initiatives</li>
</ul>
Operations &amp; Program Delivery
<ul>
<li>Provide high-touch advising and support during complex or high-pressure situations</li>
<li>Deliver institutional programming and training as needed</li>
<li>Contribute to special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned</li>
</ul>
Who You Are
<ul>
<li>You have a bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred)</li>
<li>You bring 8&ndash;10+ years of experience as a high school counselor, independent college counselor, and/or admissions officer</li>
<li>You have direct experience working in admissions at a highly selective college or university</li>
<li>You possess deep knowledge of the college admissions process and remain current on trends and best practices</li>
<li>You have strong expertise in college essay development and editing</li>
<li>You demonstrate excellent communication and public speaking skills</li>
<li>You are highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills</li>
<li>You are comfortable using web-based tools and virtual advising platforms</li>
<li>You are a relationship-builder who creates trust and confidence with students and families</li>
<li>You are flexible and collaborative, thriving in a team-oriented environment</li>
<li>You are available to work evenings and weekends as needed, particularly during peak application season (August&ndash;December)</li>
<li>You are willing to travel approximately 5&ndash;10%</li>
