 Job Responsibilities
 
 
 
 The Senior SATCOM Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Area Network (WAN) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) infrastructures. Provide high-level technical support for voice and data network systems, creates and maintains network documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved communication equipment and procedures.
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Provide Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 network support for complex enterprise WAN and LAN environments.
 </li>
 <li>
 Deliver Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 support for advanced RF systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Troubleshoot, identify root causes, and resolve network and system issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor and resolve service requests in accordance with established SLAs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review and assist in developing desktop management policies and procedures for enterprise use.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support establishment and enforcement of best practices for network management, including configuration, monitoring, patch management, and security.
 </li>
 <li>
 Operate and maintain Satellite Modems, Redundancy Switches, associated cables and interconnects; Up/Down Converters; High Power Amplifiers (HPAs); Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs); Low Noise Block (LNB); waveguide joints and connections; Intermediate Frequency (IF) cables and connections; Antennas and motors; Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA); Antenna Control Units (ACU); HVAC units; Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS); and Generators (if applicable).
 </li>
 <li>
 Utilize Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) beyond Built-In-Test (BIT) capabilities for maintenance and troubleshooting.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage and maintain telecommunications installation supplies and daily inventory.
 </li>
 <li>
 Operate and maintain Satellite Radios.
 </li>
 <li>
 Operate FDMA and TDMA modems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Operate and program iDirect, Linkway modems, and/or hubs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage all assigned terminals.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Minimum Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance (Interim Secret Clearance is acceptable).
 </li>
 <li>
 Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of ten (10) years of experience supporting installation, repair, troubleshooting, or maintenance of satellite communications electronic systems or equipment.
 </li>
 <li>
 At least ten (10) years of experience operating and maintaining tactical satellite systems, including antenna controllers, SSPA, LNA/LNB, up/down converters, fiber optic/coax/Ethernet cables, FDMA and TDMA modems, and modem hub operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven expertise with commercial and military satellite TDMA/FDMA modems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Required certifications: Network+ and Security+.
 </li>
 <li>
 Able to travel to support mission up to 75%.

 Job Responsibilities
 
 
 
 Trace Systems is seeking an experienced Field Service Representative (FSR) to support training, platform installation, operational field support, and network management for forward-deployed operations in the CENTCOM region. The primary location is Arifjan, Kuwait, with frequent travel throughout Iraq and Syria, and potential TDY assignments to Europe, Asia, and South America. The role requires the ability to operate in deployed environments, troubleshoot service issues, perform maintenance, and install, configure, and test VSAT and terrestrial Internet caf&eacute; services.
 
 
 MWR Internet Connect Program is a satellite and terrestrial communication program that provides deployed US service members and support staff contractors with Internet access at deployed locations. The FSRs are the customers&rsquo; first contact with the MWR Internet Connect Program as the most direct and immediate source of feedback for system performance, operational expectation, and overall operational value. Trace Systems is looking for FSRs with the ability to navigate the deployed environment, resolve service problems, perform maintenance, and install, configure, and test VSAT and terrestrial Internet cafe systems.
 
 This position is part of a pipeline, meaning it's not currently open but may become available in the near future.
 
 
 
 
 FSRs Will Be Responsible For
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Communications equipment and services.
 </li>
 <li>
 Troubleshooting VSAT, LAN, and WLAN hardware using test instruments and diagnostic tools.
 </li>
 <li>
 Preparing VSAT, and baseband equipment for installation by inventorying, testing, or modifying equipment as required.
 </li>
 <li>
 Cabling assemblies and associated VSAT and LAN devices IAW established standards and Government-articulated design, fabrication, and installation specifications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Candidate shall support the execution and evaluation of VSAT, LAN and WLAN and related equipment and technologies during its use in operational theaters.
 </li>
 <li>
 Candidate shall coordinate the introduction of Internet cafe related technologies and equipment with various operational commands and/or Agencies and their supporting organizations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Candidate shall facilitate the distribution, deployment, installation, training, and preventive maintenance of Internet cafe equipment in each operational theater working with DISA, operational commands, and other as necessary.
 </li>
 <li>
 Candidate will be required to work 72 hours per week.
 </li>
 <li>
 Candidate shall be on call to provide 24x7 onsite support to operational forces conducting real world operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Shall develop formal practices and procedures for the operational fielding of Internet cafe sponsored technologies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Travel to support mission ~50%.
 </li>
 <li>
 Living and operating in austere and rugged contingency combat environments.
 </li>
 <li>
 Travel throughout the region as needed, including to small FOBs and bases across the CENTCOM AOR.
 </li>
 <li>
 Carrying up to 50 pounds for distances of up to &frac14; mile.
 </li>
 <li>
 Working outside for extended hours in temperatures exceeding 100&deg;F.
 </li>
 <li>
 Bending, kneeling, or crawling to route cables under, inside, and on top of vehicles.
 </li>
 <li>
 Working on ladders and multi-story buildings to install antennas.
 </li>
 <li>
 Living and working in deployed contingency environments (shared cafeteria, shared bath/sleeping quarters, limited amenities).
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Minimum Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Due to the nature of the work and US Government requirements, this position requires an active, in-scope Secret clearance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Due to US Government requirements, US Citizenship is required.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with ISP/OSP cabling, VSAT, Cisco routing and firewall technology, IP fundamentals, and desktop &amp; peripheral technologies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be in good health and have the ability to successfully complete medical examinations as dictated by the U.S. Army (CRC).
 </li>
 <li>
 Working understanding of Army/Marine Corps logistic forms policy and procedures or need to understand basic military concepts.
 </li>
 <li>
 Possess a current United States Passport valid at least until 2027.
 </li>
 <li>
 Possess a valid United States Driver&rsquo;s License in good standing.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be able to obtain a valid FBI background check to obtain Kuwait residency visa.
 
 
 </li>

 Desired Qualification

 Military signal or telecommunications background.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with remote VSAT communications systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with basic networking and network protocols.
 </li>
 <li>
 Understanding of military organizations and Infantry/Combined Arms operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prior military instructor experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficient with Microsoft suite applications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prior experience working overseas is a plus.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of 4 years working with applicable technologies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of the Visa process for in Theater locations such as Iraq, UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia or Kuwait.
