DSP - Direct Support Professional (Work Locations and Hours Vary)

Under the supervision of a Team Leader and/or Manager this position provides personal care, training, supervision, and assessment to the individuals we serve as prescribed in Person-Centered Support Plans (PCSP) and agency policies. This position is non-exempt and has no supervisory responsibilities.
Specific duties are:<ul><li>
Provides care and reports progress on a daily basis and as required by the PCSP</li><li>
Attend to the personal needs of each client in a timely and efficient manner. Such duties include: feeding, restroom needs, dressing, medication administration, and first aid needs.</li><li>
Assist clients with meal planning, food purchases, and meal preparation</li><li>
Assist clients in maintaining a healthy living environment by following processes in place for any facility or vehicle maintenance and addressing safety concerns</li><li>
Assists with and/or monitors all housekeeping tasks in client residences</li><li>
Transportation of clients via motor vehicle or assists with arranging public transportation.</li><li>
Assist clients to develop their social and communication skills while encouraging community integration.</li><li>
Constructively communicate inter-departmentally to ensure service delivery to clients.</li><li>
Participates as an active and contributing member of client's Person-Centered Support Plan team.</li></ul>
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required: High School Diploma or GED or Bronze Level, WORKready Certification
Preferred: One year of experience in the IDD field.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Required: Valid and Current Driver's License
Preferred: n/a
COMMUNICATION
Ability to partner with various levels of staff and persons served. Have a moderate level of written and oral communication skills. 
VARIETY WORK LOCATIONS AND HOURS
Direct Support Professionals work within various capacities, locations and hours of the day<ul><li>
Residential DSP 
<ul><li>Provides care to individuals within a home like environment. Employees schedules can be day hours, nighttime (awake) hours, weekdays and/or weekends. 24/7. Full time (30 or more hours a week) or part time (17.5 hours a week) schedules are available.</li>
</ul></li></ul>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and to inside wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals as used in cleaning, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.</div>
