Summary-</b> To provide onsite calibration of test equipment for customers within the specified location up to and including an 8-hour radius. Also, will have the opportunity to support the local Transcat laboratory when not traveling.</p>
Responsibilities:
<p><b>
Major Areas of Responsibility</b></p><ul><li>
Calibrate measurement and test equipment (M&amp;TE) to manufactures specifications</li><li>
Determine out of tolerance conditions for customer M&amp;TE and calibration standards</li><li>
Provide corrective action (i.e., adjustments, minor repairs) for out of tolerance conditions</li><li>
Update and maintain proper documentation of services</li><li>
Provide customer with information regarding other services and new equipment provided by Transcat</li><li>
Maintain calibration standards</li><li>
Provide feedback and updates regarding calibration practices and procedures</li><li>
Proficiency in submitting and updating required paperwork for travel and administrative purposes</li><li>
Other duties as assigned</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Travel Requirements</b></div><ul><li>
This is a travel position Monday through Friday</li><li>
Weekly overnight travel to customer's facility to provide services - home 95% of weekends</li><li>
Company pays for all lodging and expenses when away from home</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</b></p><ul><li>
Calibration experience and/or equivalent training with commercial and/or biomedical measurement and test equipment (M&amp;TE)</li><li>
Self-motivator requiring little or no supervision</li><li>
Customer service oriented</li><li>
Ability to interact with customers &amp; coworkers in a professional manner</li><li>
Proficiency with MS Office and the internet; familiarity with basic database functionality</li><li>
3+ years driving experience with a valid driver&rsquo;s license and acceptable driver history</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Education and Experience</b></div><ul><li>
Associate degree from college or technical school; or 2-5 years of related field experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>

Military PMEL training</li><li>
Strong attention to detail - able to follow written instructions.</li><li>
Ability to plan and prioritize diversified workload and work independently with minimal supervision</li><li>

Calibration Technician II is a mid-level position, for which at least three (3) years of commercial calibration experience is preferred. Calibration Technicians at this level typically can calibrate higher-level equipment and calibrate equipment across a minimum of four (4) disciplines, with expert knowledge in one (1) discipline (e.g., Electrical, Dimensional, or Pressure). Proficiency and expertise are determined in accordance with Transcat&rsquo;s technician skills progression matrix. A Calibration Technician II will be capable of completing work independently within the lab or onsite at a customer location, with limited or no guidance.</div>
Responsibilities:

Perform calibration work with little to no supervision</li><li>
Conduct independent research when necessary</li><li>
Coordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from manager</li><li>
Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques</li><li>
Maintain calibration standards</li><li>
Understand and apply uncertainties to measurements made</li><li>
Be able to read and interpret labs&rsquo; scopes of accreditation</li><li>
Work effectively with lab support staff</li><li>
Working knowledge and competency in at least four (4) disciplines and expert in one (1) discipline preferred
</li><li>Perform calibrations within a laboratory or customer on-site setting</li><li>
Work at customer on-sites with little to no direction</li><li>
Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards</li><li>
Other duties as may be assigned</li><li>

Learn and develop fundamental skills necessary to calibration techniques and processes, which includes high level production with minimal errors</li><li>
Develop team lead skills and responsibilities
</li><li>Develop skills necessary to train and advise lower-level technicians</li><li>
Develop skills necessary to advance to Tech III position, which includes a working knowledge and competency in at least six (6) disciplines and expert in two (2) disciplines</li><li>
Strive to obtain the ASQ/CCT or CMT certification</li><li>
Deliver on Transcat&rsquo;s Quality Policy (QAC-F01-001)</li></ul>
