Company OverviewTransitions of PA is a comprehensive crime victim services center that provides support to survivors of violence and abuse through advocacy, education, and support services in Union, Snyder, and Northumberland Counties.SummaryWe are seeking a Legal Advocate to join our team at Transitions of PA. The Legal Advocate plays a vital role in supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other serious crimes.Responsibilities<ul><li>Direct Services to survivors &ndash; Provide crisis counseling, assist in filing protection orders, provide accompaniment to court hearings, and assist clients in accessing the legal system.</li><li>Systems Advocacy &amp; Collaboration &ndash; Develop and foster relationships with law enforcement, court officials, and other professionals and act as a legal resource to Transitions' staff.</li><li>Organizational Engagement &ndash; Participate in the on-call rotation and perform other related duties as assigned in alignment with the agency's mission.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field and/or equivalent experience.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and computer literate.</li><li>Exemplary customer service skills, including dealing with both other professionals and clients, in-person and over the phone.</li><li>Completion of an 80-hour Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Counselor Training upon hire.</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license, reliable transportation, and adequate vehicle insurance.</li><li>Ability to obtain Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 clearances.</li></ul>If you are passionate about making a positive impact in your community and have the skills we&rsquo;re looking for, we invite you to apply for the Legal Advocate position at Transitions of PA today!Job Type: Full-timePay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Parental leave</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>PA Driver's license (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
