Qualifications</p>
<div>
Physically and mentally competent to perform manual labor tasks</div>
<div>
Knowledge and experience to do engine tune-ups, complete engine overhauls, general mechanics, and other related duties</div>
<div>
Knowledge of bus diesel engines such as 8.2, 7.3, Cummins engine, and 3116 Cat engine</div>
<div>
A combination of education and experience in skilled mechanics and repair of equipment</div>
<div>
Valid Mississippi Commercial Driver&rsquo;s license with air brakes</div>
<div>
Must be insurable by district insurance carrier</div>
<div>
Applicant must submit to and pass drug screening test as outlined by district policy.</div>

Job Goal</p>
<div>
To keep equipment operating so that there is no interruption in the daily schedule of student transportation.</div>
<p>
Essential Functions</p>
<div>
Performs regular maintenance jobs involving a variety of skilled duties including using a computer laptop, Pro Link and A.C. Compression Service.</div>
<div>
Does engine repairs such as tune-ups, overhauls, and general maintenance.</div>
<div>
Performs major and minor motor repair and replacement work on trucks and other equipment.</div>
<div>
Works on air brake systems.</div>
<div>
Replaces valves and seats grinding.</div>
<div>
Brazes and welds metals as needed.</div>
<div>
Installs rings and bearings and effects proper adjustments.</div>
<div>
Overhauls and repairs carburetors and clutches.</div>
<div>
Tunes motors using standard testing equipment, cleans and replaces spark plugs, and installs radiator hoses.</div>
<div>
Repairs transmissions, differentials, front and rear axle assemblies.</div>
<div>
Takes down, repairs, and reassembles air compressors, pumps, and related equipment.</div>
<div>
Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.</div>

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board&rsquo;s policy on evaluation of personnel.</div>
