The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist is responsible for helping Transwest GMC grow its pre-owned inventory by purchasing vehicles directly from customers and auctions. This role is focused on creating a smooth, straightforward experience for anyone looking to sell their vehicle to the dealership.
From the first inquiry to the final payment, you&rsquo;ll be the point of contact keeping customers informed, setting expectations, and making the process as easy as possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Respond to incoming trade leads from online sources, phone calls, and walk-in customers</li><li>
Bid on and buy vehicles at various auctions.</li><li>
Coordinate transportation of freshly purchased vehicles.</li><li>
Follow up on inbound leads from online tools, phone calls, and walk-in traffic with the goal of converting opportunities into purchased vehicles.</li><li>
Actively acquire pre-owned inventory by purchasing vehicles directly from customers.</li><li>
Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the process to ensure a positive experience.</li><li>
Evaluate vehicles in person and determine a fair, market-based offer.</li><li>
Walk customers through the process and present purchase offers clearly and confidently.</li><li>
Help move deals along quickly, working toward fast turnaround times whenever possible.</li><li>
Stay in touch with customers throughout the process so they know what to expect.</li><li>
Work with the sales team when a customer is open to trading in instead of selling.</li><li>
Handle multiple customers and conversations throughout the day, both in person and over the phone.</li><li>
Inspect and evaluate vehicles to determine accurate, market-based purchase offers.</li><li>
Make sound buying decisions based on vehicle condition, market demand, and reconditioning costs.</li></ul>
Requirements:

WORK ENVIRONMENT &amp; PHYSICAL ABILITIES:<ul><li>
Perform ride alongs and on-site visits with prospective and existing customers.</li><li>
Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.</li><li>
Climbing in and out of vehicles.</li><li>
Occasional stooping and bending.</li><li>
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 45 lbs.</li><li>
Normal range of hearing and vision.</li></ul>
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE &amp; SKILLS:<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>
Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.</li><li>
Excellent communication and customer service skills.</li><li>
Excellent follow-through skills.</li><li>
Professional, responsible and customer oriented at all times.</li><li>
Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.</li></ul>
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE &amp; SKILLS:<ul><li>
Strong understanding of vehicles, including makes, models, and basic mechanical terminology</li><li>
Comfortable multitasking and handling a fast-paced, sometimes high-volume environment</li><li>
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>
Team-focused mindset with a willingness to step in and support others when needed</li><li>
General understanding of how a dealership sales operation works, even though this is not a traditional sales role</li></ul>
