Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

We handle litigation arising from claims asserted against policyholders or the company and take cases from inception through trial and appeal. As a Counsel with Travelers you will be responsible for high quality, proactive case handling and will have the opportunity to use your legal expertise and litigation skills to handle a caseload of predominantly low to moderate complexity and deliver optimal results for Travelers' insured customers.
What Will You Do?<ul><li>
In the handling of a caseload of predominantly low to moderate complexity, your responsibilities will include:</li><li>
Develop and apply effective use of litigation skills and techniques to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolution.</li><li>
Conduct legal research and demonstrate strong and persuasive legal writing and presentation skills.</li><li>
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other documents.</li><li>
Attend court events, depositions, and other appointments independently.</li><li>
Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners on file handling strategies.</li><li>
Build and maintain strong internal and external client and business partner relationships.</li><li>
Provide advice and training to Claim partners and clients.</li><li>
Fully and effectively utilize available technology, case management system and automation.</li><li>
Travel as required to meet business needs.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned.
</li></ul>What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?<ul><li>
3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience as a practicing attorney.</li>
<li>Experience independently handling cases from inception through trial/hearing &amp; appeal.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information on litigated matters to diverse audiences</li>
<li>Skilled in fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues, customers, and business partners to deliver exceptional customer service</li>
<li>Demonstrates persuasive legal writing skills and oral advocacy skills.</li>
<li>Strong legal research skills &amp; ability to utilize technology.</li>
<li>Effectively manages multiple priorities with an attention to detail, sense of urgency &amp; responsiveness.</li>
<li>Exercises sound decision making and possesses strong negotiation skills.</li>
<li>Possesses a flexible and agile mindset with a willingness to take on new challenges as needs evolve.</li></ul>
What is a Must Have?<ul><li>
Juris Doctorate or equivalent International legal degree; graduate of an accredited law school.</li>
<li>2 years experience as a practicing attorney.</li>
<li>Active license in good standing to practice law in the state(s) in which representation is required.</li>
<li>Regularly handles hearings, trials, dispositive motion arguments, depositions, or other court proceedings and has the ability to transport to those meetings. Valid driver's license required depending on the location.</li></ul>

 Travelers is seeking a Agile Product Owner/Business Analyst to lead a team to deliver capabilities/solutions in an agile way. This hybrid role requires someone who can seamlessly transition between high-level product strategy and detailed technical specifications, ensuring that both business objectives and technical requirements are met throughout the product development lifecycle.
 
 
 
 What Will You Do?

 Define, prioritize and ensure a ready backlog of work for a smaller scale product team, accept final product output, focusing on achievement of defined outcomes versus defining how the work is completed.

What Is the Opportunity?<ul><li>Bond &amp; Specialty Insurance (BSI) provides management and professional liability, cyber, crime insurance, and surety bonds to or on behalf of businesses of all sizes. The BSI Claim Counsel team conducts thorough investigation, analysis, evaluation, and disposition of claims and claim litigation to achieve superior customer service and to optimize claim results. Travelers' Cyber and Crime Claim Team is responsible for handling first-party claims, including Commercial Crime (including Fidelity), Cyber Crime, Kidnap &amp; Ransom, Public Official Bonds, and Identity Fraud/Theft. The Cyber and Crime Claim Team partners with and supports business units including Private-Non-Profit, Public Companies, Financial Institutions, Insurance Companies, Investment Advisors, and Professional Liability.</li></ul>
What Will You Do?<ul><li>
Follow operational policies to analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims of varying levels of severity with moderate supervision from claims management.</li><li>
Prepare and present reports for management that accurately reflect loss development, potential/actual financial exposure, reserve adjustments, coverage issues, and claim and recovery strategies.</li><li>
Communicate with underwriting on significant claim exposures.</li><li>
Continue to develop the ability to identify all recovery opportunities and coordinate recovery efforts with the Recovery Management Unit and Claim management.</li><li>
Refine policy interpretation/coverage analysis skills including drafting coverage opinions with case law included.</li><li>
Strengthen the ability to negotiate settlements/resolutions, review releases and settlement agreements, including confidentiality and non-disclosure provisions.</li><li>
Support underwriting marketing efforts, including participation in broker and account visits and risk mitigation seminars and authoring customer-focused white papers and articles.</li><li>
Monitor marketplace conditions, conduct research, and draft reference materials to inform claim and underwriting colleagues on law impacting Travelers&rsquo; underwriting and claim decisions.</li><li>
Obtain and maintain required adjusters&rsquo; licenses.</li></ul>
