<div>Pay Range: $23-$24, depending on experience

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Drives personal vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by company dispatcher.</li>
<li>Unloads phlebotomy tray and takes to patient&rsquo;s bedside to collect samples ordered by physician.</li>
<li>Accurately identifies patient before collecting specimen(s).</li>
<li>Accurately collects, labels, processes, and delivers specimens obtained from patients.</li>
<li>Reloads equipment and all necessary specimens to vehicle for prompt delivery.</li>
<li>Regularly communicates with dispatcher to report status and location.</li>
<li>Strict adherence to Universal Precautions in controlling blood-borne pathogens and infectious disease exposures.</li>
</ul>
Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational requirements. 


REQUIRED SKILLS:
<ul>
<li>Practices excellent communication and interaction skills specific to the population served, including the pediatric and geriatric communities.</li>
<li>Treats customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion; acknowledging residents&rsquo; rights and patients&rsquo; right to refuse</li>
<li>Must have a current, valid State phlebotomy license</li>
<li>Must have a current, valid State Driver&rsquo;s license; car insurance; good driving record; a possess a vehicle in good working condition suitable to meet daily driving requirements</li>
<li>Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques</li>
<li>Knowledge of laboratory operations</li>
<li>Maintains sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination</li></ul>

Mobile Phlebotomist

<div><ul><li>Must keep a courteous flow of communication with phlebotomist/nurses/customers. .</li>
<li>Must multi task to include additional duties such as scanning, centrifuging, data entry.</li>
<li>Makes deliveries to specific departments, facilities, drop-sites, offices, or persons.</li>
<li>Picks up items from designated facilities, drop-sites, offices, or persons for immediate, next day, or future delivery.</li>
<li>Refrain from any discussion of patient information outside the Laboratory.</li>
<li>Knowledge of required specimen preservation and handling including picking up of none blood specimens.</li>
<li>Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround time, streamline work process, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.</li>
<li>Suggest changes to supervisor or appropriate staff members to improve customer service and communicates any changes in schedules as well.</li>
<li>Respond to requests for information, care or service in a timely and polite manner.</li>
<li>Work with others in respectful, cooperative manner and exhibits warmth, courtesy, and professionalism.</li>
<li>Represent Diagnostic Laboratories positively in each communication with patients, families, physicians, other employees and contacts outside the Laboratory.</li>
<li>Adhere to dress code and wear proper identification badge at all times.</li>
<li>Inform immediate supervisor of request that cannot be handled in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Inform appropriate staff of any accidents and/or injuries immediately in written form. Cooperate with others in institution-wide programs and projects as assigned through attendance, completion of tasks, and adoption of policies.</li>
<li>Maintain personal behavior to be consistent with a clean, quiet, respectful environment for customers, patients, facilities, co-workers, and any other contacts.</li>
<li>Follow work attendance policies; maintains consistent attendance and punctuality with no unscheduled absences.</li>

REQUIRED SKILLS:

<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license with a good driving record and ability to drive safely.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills for communication with medical and laboratory personnel.</li>
<li>Previous courier or driving experience.</li>
<li>Principles and practices of safe motor vehicle operation and maintenance.</li>
<li>Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in motor vehicle operation.</li>

Courier

<div>Rate: $23 - 28
<ul>
<li>Completes volume appropriate route.
</li>
<li>Will keep apprised of AM facility clearance, including: service, UTO&rsquo;s, same day refusals, ammonias etc.
</li>
<li>Develop good rapport with dispatch so there is clear communication.
</li>
<li>Train new phlebotomists when no trainers are designated for the area.
</li>
<li>Attend facility start up in-service with APS (time appropriate).
</li>
<li>Conduct quarterly trunk checks.
</li>
<li>Account for all route sheets on a daily basis (previous day or days if Monday).
</li>
<li>Stay up to date on mileage entry on ExpenseWire
</li>
<li>Assist APS in ordering supplies and closing orders, if there is no other designee.</li>
<li>
Assist APS in collection of centrifuge logs and placement in binders, if there is no other designee.
</li>
<li>Assist APS in butterfly logs/usage, if there is no other designee.
</li>
<li>Works cooperatively with all other departments, including but not limited to: Laboratory Dispatch, Courier Dispatch, Couriers, Accessioning, Customer Service and Data Entry</li>
